Yup we are d - o - g sitting this week. I know *nothing* about dogs so it should be an adventure. Cinnamon belongs to Misha's family, she is about 15 or 16 years old and is a Golden Retriever. What a beautiful and sweet girl she is!! She will stay with us for a few hours at a time while I am babysitting but this is my first time having her for many days. Since she is calm and quiet - the cats don't seem to mind having her around at all. Eliot and Emily are hiding but I think they will be fine.
What? What IS that??

Omegosh that is a BIG orangie!!

Dylan and the babies think she is just fine!! Lizzie especially is always following her around and wants to snuggle. Here, Cinnamon was trying to nap on her bed but Lizzie kept sniffing her:o

I turned to look a few seconds later and this is what I see....

Now, how do I keep them from eating each other's food? Everyone freefeeds and the cats think Cinnamon's food is *so much better!*

wow, a 15 year old FREE FED Golden!?!?! That's amazing, freefeeding is so unhealthy for dogs. She's a sweetie!

Good luck keeping them out of each other's food! LOL. Nicki's pretty much learned to eat her food fast once its put down or she won't get any. Be prepared for some nice surprises in the litterbox tomorrow :o

Free feeding isnt bad - Nicki used to be free fed (precats) and she only ate as much as she wanted to feel full. She actually has gained a lot of weight since she stopped free feeding.

She looks like a gentle old girl. Sweet kisses to her.

Hey Deb

Thanks for taking care of Cinnamon for the kids. Looks like all the fur babies will do fine together. I got Cinnamon when she was 3months old. She has always been freefed. She never did over eat. She only ate when she was hungery. She is such a good dog.
Finely made to Japan, thought that plan ride would never end. Tyler is such a cute baby. I gave him sweet kiss from you and Grandpa.
See you when I get back.
Love ya
Carol

Carol - Cinnamon is doing just great - takes her medicines right down in a ball of wet food. She slept by the bed all night long and has been eating and drinking well.:) Have a GREAT time in Japan!

Goldens & kitties...its a good combination!

"Free feeding"...and here we thought that meant you didn't have to do tricks before getting a greenie. :D :D :D

is very taken with Cinnamon and follows her around. She thinks Cinnamon *must* have her company while eating:rolleyes:

Robbie "helps" her eat too - Cinnamon is so sweet and does not growl or even seem to mind.

uh......no:o

I don't mind sitting but I am hopelessly a cat person. Cinnamon is a sweetheart and we are taking good care of her - but I am just very much at ease with kitties but on edge with dogs:rolleyes: Silly maybe but I guess it is sort of like people without kids who prefer it that way? Or like grandparents who love to babysit but always glad when they can give the kids back:p I *like* most any pets but I *LOVE* kitties:D I also know that other people are true petlovers and adore all animals.

Please don't take this as a dog vs cat statement anyone.

Meanwhile - hubby took a bunch more pictures that I will post here soon - no snuggles yet but cute:)

Not taken that way at all... in fact I smiled when I read it! :)
I remember a few posts and conversations last year at the dog park about getting a dog. That obviously were a no go.
My parent's also have no desire to have to have (another) dog. They are quite happy with having mine around on occasion - watching her for me- etc. But just as grandkids - it is more fun to 'send them home'.
:p
I think you are doing a splendid job taking care of Cinnamon and I LOVE that hubby scooped with a litter scoop! he he he
