View Full Version : The price of Gas where you are

Here in Southern NH, most of the Gas Stations went from about $2.53 yesterday morning to $2.79 this morning. Unfortunately it is probably only going to get worse. How much is Gas where you are?

The cheapest I've seen it here is $2.59. However, that was before Katrina. I'm afraid we're going to be totally screwed now.

This is really becoming unbearable.
I really hate this situation and while I am having a hard time with the increases I think that there are others hurting even more than me. I am fortunate enough to work very close to home (about 7 miles) but I know many people that travel 50+ miles a day just to get to work. I think the government should do more.

It went up about 30cents from yesterday in my area.
If I travel about 20-30 minutes to the city you can find it for about 2.60 if you really look.

Yesterdays average was about 2.65, today's average 2.95 in my area!!!!
This is getting to be insane.

While it's going to be really hard for me to pay higher gas prices, at least I have a roof over my head and food and water. I personally feel very blessed.

Maybe now the government will build more refineries and learn not to put them all in one area. :(

When I went to work this morning, the one station where I usually stop was $2.419. This afternoon, when I ran home for lunch, it was $3.099, for the same, regular unleaded gas.

We filled both our cars for $2.59 last night. I didn't pay attention on my way in this morning, however the local news wesbites are reporting prices of $3.09 and up.

Two people I work with live less than a 1/2 mile each from me. We are talking about putting together a carpooling schedule. I hope it works out...

hiya beeniesmom!

I stopped coming home for lunch everyday. I run all errands on the way home. I stopped going across town every weekend to see family and friends.

If my job wasn't so precarious right now, I'd buy an eletric motor scooter to go back and forth to work and just use my car on the weekends.

The gas station right by my house was at $2.499 last night. This morning, as expected, it was $3.099. However, I believe it's up to $3.599 in some parts of my city.

Thank GOD my dad warned me about the sudden increase in gas and as to why, because I filled up Monday (I was low anyways...) and that should be last at least a month, because I'm on a major conserving streak. I pay for my own gas and insurance, and I no longer have a job. And I don't have time for a job, so I'm conserving my money too..

you guys in the U.S. get your gas by the gallon right? Here in Canada it is by the litre. So there are 4 litres in a gallon. It is 1.19 a litre which means $4.76 a gallon but that is in canadian dollars so it would be in American dollars...$4.00 a gallon.

It is around $3.00 here. My family travels ALOT!! My two brothers are in college and are gone most of the day. Lets see, here is about how many miles we drive each day:

Gabriel (eldest brother)- to college around 45miles, then back another 45miles. Then just around town doing whatever he wants 10miles. All in all around 100miles a day.

Daniel (2nd eldest brother)- college is around 1 minute from house so hardly any gas wasted there but he travels to his girlfriends house which is aroun 40 miles away. Sometimes he goes but he doesn't go all the time. Roughly 30miles a day. Give or take.

Mom and Step dad- Mom drives 10min to work and Step dad drives 15minutes. Then they go pick me up from school along with my other two brothers in high school. So around 100miles a day. (Both parents)

Plus to Wal- Mart or H-E-B (I think h-e-b is only in texas) around 30miles a week. They have to go almost everyday with 5full grown boys at the house at all times.

So if my calculations are correct we drive around: 1500 miles each week. (reducing some miles since we don't follow that exact schedule the entire time.)

It's about $3.49 in NH right now (at least in Concord). On the news last night, the Hess Station on S. Willow St. in Manchester was closed because they ran out (at a cheap $2.69).

I have to go and get gas at lunchtime. I'm going to go on the gas website to see where the cheapest is in Concord and make my way there.

The Atlanta gas at $5+ sounds like gas gouging which is illegal. Hopefully, they'll will put a stop to that.

This is being brought on by speculation in the Gas market. Don't blame the gas station, blame wall street. Today's news story predicting $5/gallon gas is justification for tomorrow's commodities market hikes.
