Have your cats ever mistaken containers of people food for kitty treats?

Yesterday I bought a bag of Craisins, and Loki was just convinced that they were his Kitty Treats. Even after he smelled the bag, sniffed one, saw me eating them (and repeating this process over and over), he was still begging for them like they were kitty treats. I even left one for him to eat, and he wouldn't touch it. The problem was his treats come in a bag shaped exactly the same, sounds the same, and even shiney the same, and he was convinced it was the same bag of his treats. It was actually kind of funny after a while.

But of course I did give him some of his treats from the tupperware container we store them in (since he always claws into the bag they come in from the store). We wouldn't want the baby to be famished!

Oh yes! Mine do that too.

Lamoni won't eat "people food" much but Fifi will eat darn near anything and demands that we share.

She loves ice cream. Being a hot summer we have a big box of drum sticks (vanilla ice cream in a cone topped with chocolate and nuts) in the freezer. These are wrapped in paper. I have to tear the paper off and eat the chocolate coating before I can give her teaspoon of ice cream. She comes running when she hears the paper being torn.

The other day I was taking notes while on the phone. I only used a half sheet of paper and wanted to save the rest. RIP!

Before I even got the tear compleated she was standing in my lap looking for her treat. I showed her the half sheet and she was not convinced. I had to make her watch me tear the half sheet until she belived that it was not ice cream.

Oliver is the BIGGEST cry baby inthe world and he never forgets a treat. Last week I gave him one slice of ham in front of the fridge, now whenever i go near the fridge he starts HOWLING. When i open the fridge he tried to climb in it now!!! Thank goodness the dogs have better manners and let him know he's not allowed in the fridge or countertop. LOL

Whenever something is shook, and it sounds like kitty treats, like a pill bottle or a bag of raisins, Lightning comes running over. With his cute, pathetic, "you never feed me enough" and "are'nt i so cute" looks, he gets a treat. Then he gives me headbumpies for another...and another... and another...

give him some of his treats from the tupperware container we store them in (since he always claws into the bag they come in from the store).

This is a good idea, Lightning always does this to his temptaions bag. See?
