Part 1

I go to work, I leave home,
And my cat finds he's all alone.
One eye open, the other shut.
"I think it's time, to get off my butt..."

Places to explore, or so it seems
Food to eat and dreams to dream.
Nine of the clock, there's no one around.
Oops, that cup just went to ground.

A drink of water? A box to litter?
When it comes to trouble, I ain't no quitter.
Let's check the window, push aside the curtains.
I just tore the fabric, he'll notice for certain.

Another drink, let's have a snack.
I fly in the room? I go on attack.
I chase him high, newspaper I scatter.
I catch him low, that's all that matters..

That work done, it's on to the chair.
It doesn't look right without some hair.
And a thread or two, pulled with my claws
and after that, it's time to pause.

A little nap to refresh my mind.
I look around, for mischief to find.
Look, fresh laundry I want to climb on
and a walk on a keyboard, the computer to sign on.

The end? not quite!

Richard that is wonderful...............did Eddie really write that on the computer?

Woke up this morning to find one of the kittie's litter boxes turned on its side with all of the contents on the floor.

When did this happen and why? It must be the heat!

a rug to move, dust bunny to chase,
I'll stop a moment to clean my face.
A door to inspect, a nap in the sun!
Time for lunch, An afternoon of fun?

A post lunch nap, what was that noise?
Now I'm awake, I'll check my toys!
These toys are old, that fun's been had!
I'll play with the stuff that belongs to Dad!

I'll 'hide' the remote and hide it good!
Then I'll get the attention I know I should!
That book he reads before his sleep
Is behind the bed...Hidden deep....

Another snack? It don't matter...
I'll flip the bowl, my food to scatter.
A sprint thru the house for good measure
Time for a nap? Something I treasure!

It's late in the day, late afternoon-
I know my dad will be coming home soon...
I can see him now coming thru the door.
He looks so funny with his jaw on the floor.....

Part three, coming soon!

RICHARD,

I REEEEEEEEEAAAAAAALLLY think you should apply for a job with Hallmark. You've got a real talent there.

The best is last, that I can save.
Splash the water bowl...Watch the waves!
My crowning moment is just ahead.
Gonna hack a hairball, on his bed.

My dad does love me-that's what I've know
My love in return-how can that be shown?
Another nap? push has come to shove.
Then I'll awake, and show my love..

Let me spead my food all over the floor
He'll see it quick when he opens the door
His heart will grow, as he surveys the house
If he don't like it, I'll blame the mouse.

That mythical rodent that makes the mess
But there is one thing I must confess
when he walks thru the door at the end of his day
All he wants is 'Kitty play"...

I'll cry when I see him at the door.
Now he's home..Can I nap some more?
It's way too much work, being alone.
Nine hours of work, keeping his home.

Well, it is my house-during the day
That is the truth, what can he say..
While he's off, earning a buck.
I'm stuck here, but look at my luck!

Food to spill, some give and some take
Things to knock over, messes to make
What that job is, is where I am at.
These are the things, in the life of a cat.

But in the rat race, the world is a trap
And I'll feel better after a nap
And do not get angry, my life do not knock.
I ain't the one, punching time clocks

So the next time you split, off to your job
Remember this, you poor working slob.
Of being stuck 'round your home, Me do not pity.
It's part of my job, being YOUR kitty.

:)

-------------------------------------

Thank you Edward..

I'll never question your love for me or the pains you go thru to
show it...

That hairball on the bed was a fine gift.
