But i wish the hurricanes would let up. It should be a CAT. 1 by tonight, or tomorrow i believe they said. But its heading RIGHT for me. School is cancelled for tomorrow & friday. Im pretty sure thats the only good thing coming out of it.

Sorry you live so far down south. I'm glad I live in the center. Of course, that didn't help us last year. I hate the hurricanes. If my parents weren't here, I'd already be gone. I hate the weather here, too, for that matter. One day, I'll be up north enjoying the four seasons again. Stay safe!

UGH! Not again! Be safe. I only remember Philadelphia getting one hurricane when I was around 8 y.o. and I was petrified. Some suburbs of Phila get Cat 1 tornadoes, luckily not me. I'd freak out. I'm a big baby. I hate thunder and lightening, especially at night. I know how Klo feels.

Be safe, hurricanes are so scary! I haven't been in one in a long time, but, I remember the ones I have been in like they were yesterday!

Lucky us!

It's a hurricane now.. 75 MPH winds.
It's REALLY windy here; im almost positive the palm trees in the backyard are going to fall down. They're swaying really hard. As soon as it hits land, which is at 7 or 7:30, the eye will be directly over us. It's going to be between the Broward/West palm border. Im HOPING we dont lose our power. Over 200,000 people in broward are already without it. :(

Good luck Amber.
I suspect we're going to get tons of rain on this side. We're heading to the beach for our pre-hurricane fun siunce we won't be able to by this weekend.

Doubt the palm trees will fall, those things are survivors!

How's it going down south? Libby is nearer to the west coast. I hope everyone is safe. It's not raining or windy here yet. It was earlier today.

It's incredibly windy right now, we're up to 80 MPH winds...

The shingles on our roof are coming off. At least 30 are scattered in the backyard. A bit ago, my little brother and I had all the lights off, and we were looking out the window that overlooks our backyard, and the sky was lighting up green and blue. Transformers were blowing... It was really pretty to see, but i would be terrified if i was RIGHT near it. We have some lights in the front yard, and their fuses were popping or whatever you would call it. As my brother & i were watching out back, our fence fell down. I can actually here the shingles coming off. We have A LOT of big branches down in front, & lots of leaves. I'll try and get a picture later on, when the wind and stuff dies down..

Thats really about it. It's just WINDY and rainy. We're supposed to be getting the worst part shortly.

My power does seem to keep flickering on and off. Luckily it hasn't since the last time. -Crosses fingers that it doesnt again-

BTW- As of 8 or so, we've been in the eye of the storm. It's rather calm compared to whats headed. The right side of the eye is always the worst, and unfortunately we're caught right in that! Other than that, everythings going good.. ;)

I'll try and keep you all updated though, thanks for all the well wishes!

I'm sorry it's that bad. I hope you don't have too much damage. I know it must be scary.

Eeep, that sounds so scary. I'd freak out if the transformers were within viewing distance. Hope your power stays on and you guys stay safe(your property, too!)

I HATE when storms come at night. In the day time atleast you can see what's going on.

How did you hold up, Amber?

I hopr Katrina goes on her projected path and stays awaw from us.

Getting a bad band right now. Just started pouring. Had to end our swim in the pool!

Everything's fine here! Just lots of tree branches and stuff down. Through this though, our fence came down, and I've met a girl who apparently knows who I am? LOL. She just moved into that house, and she says she knows me. :p I really have no idea who she is though but she goes to my school. Anyway, my dad is out back, chopping up the boards to the fence now, and throwing them out. The clean up has begun! ;)

Luckily we still have power. Most of the homes in Broward have been without power since last night.

Unfortunately, my grandparents who live in Homestead, got REALLY bad bands... A HUGE avocado tree fell over, another tree fell over onto my Grandpas car, and a ficus (SP?) was uprooted from the yard and landed on their shed. I thought we had it bad here, but we actually got the better of it.

Also, an overpass in Miami, collapsed. They're not sure why, because even a category 4 shouldn't have made it collapse, and this was ONLY a category 1. Im so thankful that it wasn't stronger.

Im watching the news now, and it looks like it's left Florida, but it also looks like its making a little turn at the end back towards Florida? Maybe im just seeing things, but is it possible for it to turn around after its regained strength and come back for Florida one more time? Im not sure of the projected path as I've been pretty sick of watching the news.

Anyway, back to work for me. I have to rake up leaves. :p

The current projected path takes it up into the Florida panhandle.

Well it looks like the Tampa Bay area has eeked out of this one. Good news for us, not so good for the Panhandle. :(
