I need a lot of hugs right now :`(

I've decided to end Oscars suffering.

SHes having seizers With makes her sad & that causes her to sulk. The sulking causes her to get infections & raw skin, that causes her to sulk. While sulking she refusues to eat.. its going on 6 weeks or more now & none of the medications I've tried has helped her. Shes so sick that everything I change some of the water it reamins cloudy.

I took her out of her 55g & put her in a 20g hoping that being close to me would make her eat. no luck. Shes so thin its sick. her belly is thiner then a pencel & it should be super fat like 1-3 fingers thick.

Please help me to be strong & hold her tight while she passes. She was such a lovely girl & I wish she didn't have such poor genes (My fish guy thinks she was imbred, which causes all sorts of horrible effects). I know she had a decent 5 years & I know she knows that I love her.

I feel terrible for having to do this. I'll post again after my baby has passed away.

I put down my Oscar a few weeks ago, too. It's tough and amazing how attached we can be to our fish.

Know that you did the right thing and that she's not suffering anymore.

Her death was quicker then I thought it was going to take. I think the fact that she was so weak & all the splashing she did as I was tossing a blanket ontop of her, made her pass before I even got her out of the tank.

I'm so glad she didn't have to flop in the blanket in my arms due to no air. This went much better then I could have hope for her to go.

I held her for about 1/2 hour to make sure she was really gone before I burried her. Rob came home at that time & dug the hole for me. shes beside the cool burnt tree (hit by lightning several times).

Thanks everyone. It just makes me feel better knowing that others agree I did the best thing.

I told my bus buddy & she nearly cried. She never met Oscar, but knew so much about her & loved how she was so smart & did cool things.

My room seems quite empty without that big gal in here. I'm trying to find the best photo I have & then find someone who can clean it up & cute her out for me, so I can take the image to the store & get it turned intoa real photo & hang it on my wall.
