I was just checking Lexi for bumps, scrapes or anything else that could've happened when I wasn't looking and I found something nearher ribcage that feels like a bump, its like fatty tissue or a cyst of some sort! I have no idea! :( You can kind of tell because there is a slight lump looking from an angle but its more of a feeling thing to tell what it is. I hope its nothing bad or serious...any clues?

Would pictures help?

Oh, I don't know what I would do if Lexi had something deadly again!

Also, its happened since she bloated, but when she whines, its like a bshort breath of air and 4 or 5 of those then the whine comes out...just had to point that out as well!

poor Lexi :(.. I cant believe she got bloat.

It does sound like a simple blood cyst to me, I hope it is! Gonzo got one this summer and I freaked out and thought it was cancer. The vet laughed at me, cos I was convinced it was a malignant tumor >.< heh

Call your vet, if you think its more than a cyst. You can also get meds from the vet to treat the cyst :)

Could it be a tick?

Lexi_Lover

No, its not a tick. I know for sure....

But what is a blood cyst, what do I need to do with it. I'll get pictures tomorrow in the sun so that its shows better, because the gleam of her coat shows the "bump".

Thanks everybody!

Overnight, it has nearly doubled in size! :( It scared me when I woke up and right beside me was a giant lump! :( There is also a smaller second one that is more noticable on pictures. I have taken some and its VERRY hard to ntoice, but I have outlined them. I'll try and get some later. But tomorrow I am leaving for Kingston and won't be home for 4 days...what exactly is a blood cyst? Should I start to get worried now?

Its all boiling up inside of me, I couldn't possibly take another trip to Emergency! :(

The pics say all that is needed....please ask questions, it might help you!

It doesn't hurt her to touch it and it hasn't affected her activity level(don't think ANYTHING will.... ) or her appetite...

Thank you Robin! :) We appreciate it! I'm going to keep an eye out today as well.

Please, can anybody help us? If nobody knows what it is, it seems to worry me! :( I'm going to check up blood cyst on the net and see what happens.

It could be just a sac filled with fluid. I wouldn't mess with it though, I hope it isn't anything serious. I would get it checked out by the vet asap. It's better to be safe than sorry.
I am sending Lexi good thoughts and prayers. ((Lexi))

I can't seem to find information on blood cysts. From what I *have* read though its like a blister. The bump is much bigger then a blister! :( Getting nervous now..........any possibilities? AT ALL?

We can't! :( Thats the thing. For one, teh vets closed at 4 today and another is that we can't take her in because we are leaving for 4 days. My parents said if we come back and its still there, we will get it checked out. In th meantime, if it keeps getting bigger and bothers her, then my sister, who is watching her(shes 23) will take her in...we will have to wait until then! :(

Oh no...please try to get her in Paula...last time would have been a disaster if you hadn't! (though this doesn't sound even close to as bad as last time...but still...):( Prayers coming for Lexi girl!:(

Could they just be bumps where they could have possibly given her shots? It happens sometimes.

If not, you NEED to call the vets. It's probably nothing but no one here can give you a REAL diagnosis or tell you what to do about it.

No, her shots were done on the back of her neck. Nowhere near that area. I will ask Melissa(sister) to take her in tomorrow...

best thing to do is indeed ask for a vet's advice. I hope it's nothing serrious.

How is it today?
I can't really see it too much in the pictures, but from what I am gathering by the descriptions is it may be a fatty tumor??? I hope it's nothing serious.
Sending Lexi & you good thoughts!

I hope she gets better. We're not vets and you shouldn't be trying to figure out what it is over the internet. I'm sure the vet can fit you in and if it's already doubled in size, that's a good sign she needs to be checked. I hope it's nothing serious. Hug her for me.

The lumps are gone. We don't know what they were, but she is nice and flat there again. Very happy with that news! :)

it was probably a bug bite or something like that
