Some of you might remember me mentioning about the parking lot beside my house where I would feed the strays at night, welllll, as of Monday, there is no more parking lot. They have torn it up to make way for a Low Rent Housing complex.
My main concern is how scared my poor babies are with the noise from the machines. I've had to close all the windows which makes it so stuffy in here with the heat we've been having and for the past week, have had to deal with some very nervous kitties when I get home from work. Within an hour they calm down, but then have to go through it all over again the next day.
Here are a few pictures of what they have done.
The front park toward the street.

The back part toward the laneway.

And when I come home from work and look out my living room window, this is what I see.

Now, the bugger part of this, is that we had 8 beautiful little trees around the lot and they are all gone now. I will have to find another place to feed the strays. My cat tree is in front of the window and the cats just love laying up there looking out and after this complex is finished, all we will be looking at is a brick wall.
This is what they will be missing. This was taken in the spring.

They really loved looking out toward the parking lot and watching the birds, squirrels and the cats that were outside.

Why the heck, does the city feel they have to fill up any and every space they darn well please. Even the parking lot up on the next block from us, is being torn up to build Condo's.
