Today is Sadie's birthday so I figured I would finally get around to posting pictures of her from our wedding/honeymoon. Having a new job and a fixer upper house has kept me too busy to do much else :(, but today is Sadie's day. She's 13, which worries me as I can see her slowing down.

Sadie was flowerdog at our wedding (April 2nd). She didn't actually do much for the role except pose but it made me happy.

For the honeymoon we drove across country and I hoped to meet Cincy'sMom in Ohio and WolfQ in Utah, but plans changed - my husband got sick with what we now figure was a viral infection. He's fine now, but our stop in Ohio was not at a dog park but at an urgent care place. With antibiotics we thought he'd be fine, but the altitude of the CO mountains landed him in the hospital for the weekend leaving us little time in Utah. So basically he didn't have a great honeymoon - but Sadie and I did :).

Those are great photos! I was sorry to hear about your husband getting sick but I'm glad he's feeling better now. It looks like you had a nice trip anyway. :) Were there "no dogs" signs at Arches and Canyonlands? I haven't been to either in many years I was thinking about going to Arches sometime....just went to Bryce though and they didn't want dogs on any of the trails (did it anyway though :o )

We are hoping to have some kind of honeymoon do-over but it's not the same as right after the wedding. We do at least have an interesting honeymoon story.

Amy - Arches has no dogs signs posted on trails too but we walked right past the signs, only stopping for a picture. Sadie wasn't the only dog to do that. We did more driving then hiking (sick husband) so arches was perfect for short hikes that offered amazing views. The hike to delicate arch was long and more crowded so Sadie stayed in the car and I'm glad she did. It would have been too long for her and part of the hike (along a cliff) could have been dangerous if other people were there or another dog.

The day we went was beautiful and clear but it was April and not a popular time of year so that meant no crowds. With crowds it wouldn't have been fun for us or the dog. April was also cool enough for Sadie to wait in the car. (I can only imagine what those hikes are like in summer!!)

Amy your state is beautiful! I definitely want to get back for Bryce and Zion and the Park City area and then start again at Moab. I just loved it!

Delicate Arch - A 3mile hike round trip (seemed like 10 at the time!) but well worth it. Bring a flashlight if it's late - thank god people ahead of us had one!

I think it's so special that Sadie went on your honeymoon with you! So many people would board their dogs instead. I'm sorry your hubby got sick, what a bummer!
