I posted a few days ago about getting a bengal cat...... He's here.... he's a little over a year old - weighs about 12lbs, and his name is "Bagira" He sure is beautiful... Macy and Ellie don't seem to mind him... he's been in this corner all night, and when you call his name - look at him or even think about going near him he starts growling ferociously............

He's beautiful!

You're bound to get a lot of growling the next few days. Then hissing and swats. Watch closely their interactions. Its ok to swat. Very natural for them. Just make sure claws are not out. Swatting with claws in is fine and they'll work things out in no time.

He is a pretty Bengal! Very defined spots! Maybe some kitty treats will help purrsuade his decision to warm up to his new surroundings :) Time will be his best adjusting tool though.

Maybe if you could get a towel or a blanket from his old owners with their scents on it for him to lay on, it might help him with his homesickness. And try to find out from his previous owners his likes & dislikes on how he likes to be handled.

What a beautiful boy. I love his markings, it must be very hard for him to be with out the things he knows and loves. He will adjust and before you know it he will rule the roost. Congradulations and Best of Luck. Keep us posted on his progress.

If you like to read or something else that is quiet then sit near him without touching him or looking at him and read. Don't try to force yourself on his space but be nearby where he can see, hear and smell you. By doing something like reading you are involved in something else and not forcing him to react. This allows him to get used to you without feeling invaded or forced. Does this make sense? You watch he will come to you. When he does don't reach out to him at first...just let him smell and touch you. Let it be on his terms. Eventually you can let your hand get closer so he can touch your hand. If you keep going slow like this he will come out of his fear and trust you.

I love his name. A wonderful name for a handsome little man.

Denyce has some wonderful advice. My Smokey loves to be held like a baby doll too. I hope that you are able to get a photo very soon of Bagira in your arms.

He's very handsome! My ex and I had a bengal cat named Lock. They are wonderful, crazy cats!

Oh gosh, he is absolutely gorgeous. Poor sweet thing though being so scared like that.
Do you have him in a separate room or have you just let him loose in the house?

If he is loose, I think it would be best to put him in a room and let him adjust to his new surroundings in a more quiet manner and when he isn't so scared, then slowly introduce him to your other two.
Denyce gave some very good advice.

Well... he's warming up... we tried leaving him in one room with his own food, water and litter...... he cried and cried and i just couldnt take the noise.. so we let him out.......

today he is roaming the house.. he actually let me pet him today..... i was taking a nap earlier and he jumped up on the bed and layed against me purring... he let me touch him then..... then suddenly Ellie pounced on him and it was a big ol' hiss fest! He is fine when the other cats are not around... I guess it will take some time before they are sleeping together :P

I took some more pics this morning.... he was playing with my husband and I in the kitchen! Enjoy...... (i just can't get over how beautiful he is!!)

AWWWWW, it is so good to hear that he is starting to warm up to you this quickly. I think you are going to have a major love bug on your hands.

He is absolutely G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!!

What a great set of pictures of him playing.

Please keep us updated on how things are going with him, okay. :D
