MooShoo and I have a daily routine. When I get home from work, weather permitting, I tak him out in the backyard for a little fresh air.

Well, tonight I was carrying him down the back stairs when I fell (5 stairs). The first thing that crossed my mind was, "Okay, do I break my fall and drop the cat or what??" As I tried to do both, I saw MooShoo fall as I also fell.

MooShoo is fine, but my right foot is all blue, swollen and sore. I immediately put ice on it, so I'm hoping that did the trick.

I sat in the yard kissing MooShoo all over asking him to please forgive me!! He's fine. As a matter of act, he's laying on my chest as I type.

I should've known the kind of day I was going to have when I got a speeding ticket on the way to work, and then proceeded to fall walking UP the stairs at work!!

That's it, I'm staying home!!!!

Everything is fine. I was fortunate enough to put ice on it right away. It's probably going to be a little discolored, but for the most part, it's fine.

MooShoo is okay. Sleeping like a baby. I'm just greatful that nothing happened to him.

When I'm being a klutz, I have to be REAL careful that I don't fall on my left knee. If I damage it, I'll wind up being operated on again. Once is enough!

Sorry about your cruddy day!! :(

Glad Moo is ok and has forgiven you. When I'm Klutzy around the house and step on a wayward tail, it takes forever for the two brats to forgive me!

Being the ankle specialist right now (have my ankle brace now for 3 weeks and need 3 more:( ):

First: ice is good. And if it's very much swollen then it's better most of the time than if it only a little swollen. It may only be a sprain.

If today you have the feeling soemthing could be broken- you'll have to see a doc for an Xray.

It can be a ligament rupture (like mine). Then it would be better to see a doc- but you also could do the following: tape your foot from the middle of the foot to over the ankle (imagine a ski boot without toes ;)). Maybe you could buy a brace (www.aircast.com). A doc will not do more- they don't do surgery anymore on ligament ruptures. And of course: no high heels for six weeks.

Driving and working should be fine and after the first week it should hurt significantly less.

Plus: try not to limp but to roll your foot properly. Just do anything as slowly as you need it.

All the best - and of course MooShoo was fine

:D - He's a cat:D

Barbara,

Ice was the first thing I put on it. It helped the bruising substantially. I just bruised my foot. Nothing is broken or sprained. I'm fine, just a little embarassed.

I did a head-to-toe inspection of MooShoo today and he's also fine. As a matter of fact, he's nagging me to go outside again. Talk about a glutton for punishment!!!

Yeoowch!! I fell down the stairs...or slid more like it... with a cat in my arms. Instead of breaking my fall, I clutched the cat to my chest and just slid down the stairs.

Hit the back of my head on the stairs and bruised my tailbone.

I so sympathise.

*HUGS*

I too am the classic bull in a china shop. My hubby calls me Dolores (because Dolor means "Pain" in Spanish) as I'm forever bumping into things, etc.

MooShoo knows you didn't drop him on purpose and he's just allowing you to redeem yourself by giving you the opportunity to take him outside again. :D

I'm glad your foot/ankle are better, too.

This was years ago. :) When I still lived with my parents. I just wasn't watching where I was going and socks and carpeted stairs don't mix if you don't pay attention.

Sable was not amused. :D ;)
