Because of all the nice and encouraging comments I got on my 'Opinions wanted' thread (http://67.15.70.205/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84584) I tried my hand at drawing Bobby. (When looking please bear in mind that it was done roughly and quickly, and that I have never drawn a dog before. :))

First the reference photo

Chris if I drew and drew until I was 100 years old I could not BEGIN to produce such a drawing! You have been keeping your talent hidden. I am so glad you have decided to share! Will you try your hand at Ebby too? :)

Looks great for a quick sketch! :)

Not a critique, intended to be helpful for when you want to do a real detailed, time-consuming sketch: when doing fur, I find its easier to use a VERY sharp pencil, instead of the sides. To do each individual hair. Use one of those blending stumps (made of paper) to smooth and blend where necessary. Use a kneaded eraser to pull out highlights.

This is excellent.:) I've always wished that I had this kind of talent but unfortunately, I can only draw stick figures.

Look at Bobby - amazing Chris.

It seems you have a talent around the eyes - as with the Johnny Depp pic., the eyes are haunting.
