No, it's not a very small poodle, but it is a small pile of poodle fur! Being that it is HOT today and humid and hazy and all of that uncomfortable stuff, I have been giving the dogs their extreme summer hairdos! Bella has already suffered through hers, and her fur is in the trash  but I thought I would show you how much has come off my little boy so far. Their fur was short to start with, but now they are going to be really cool! ;) If I don't mess anyone up, pictures will follow. I am waiting for the clippers to cool down yet again. For those of you who responded to my *clipper rant,* I still do not have new clippers. Still waiting for hubby to decide what to get.

LOL! Liz!!! Logan, I should have shaped it into a poodle. I will remember that for next time! LOL!

Well here is Ripley after his grooming. He sits so still for me like a good boy that when we are done he is all over the place! LOL!

Bella is quite the actress. Here she is looking so tired out from her ordeal.

And another. I still have to shape up her topknot and tail but that can wait for another day! LOL!

Believe it or not I was able to accomplish other things around here today while waiting for the darn clippers to cool off. They get lots of *breathers* that way.

Oh, it is a little poodle bunny. I think it wants its tummy tickled. :p

Ripley and Bella, your mom is a pro with those clippers and combs. I would have sworn you had been to the suavest of shops. And kudos to you both, as you must have been very cooperative.

Wow, Pam! You have a new "do" and so do the pups! What a terrific job you did! They look so cool! C'mon over, I can use a trim myself!!!

WOW!!! I shave my puppers, Sally (Rachel/rizzy's) dog, my aunts dog Checkers, and, so far that is it! I don't do "fancy" trims, they look so nice though! ESS and Brittany don't stick together either. Sammy (My bichon frise) sticks together though! It is SO much easier!

Can you give me some tips?-Maybe I can start a mini groomer job!-Low paying of corse!

Great job on your puppers!-Steph and Jes

Oh! It took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at. :D

My daughter walked in, looked at my monitor, covered her mouth and said, "Is that a dog???" LOL

lol :D

how often do you have to groom your dogs?

Pam
07-27-2005, 04:15 PM
I usually do them about every three weeks. I will do their faces, feet and tails each time but only do their bodies every other time. This time I went really short because of the heat. In another week they will be fuzzy again. Their hair grows so fast.

I have been grooming poodles (just my own, not professionally) for 30 years now (obviously different dogs than the two I have now! LOL!) I still don't do as good of a job as a professional groomer but I actually enjoy doing it myself.

I either bathe and groom one dog one day and do the other dog the next day, or I bathe both dogs one day and do the grooming the next day. I just can't do both baths and grooming for them both all in the same day. Too old!

PJ's Mom, your daughter had me laughing out loud!

Awww, they look so good.
The pics reminded me of the days when I used to cut my 2 poodles hair myself. You did a better job than I ever could!
