My 4 vacation days PLUS the 4 days I have off will give me a whole week in CT!!! WOOHOO!!!!

Moo's already got his speedo packed! I'll let you know when the plans are finalized.

Catlover4ever,

All over the place, since I'll have my car. I'll be in Newington, East Hartford, Wethersfield, Niantic, West Hartford, Manchester.

Whereabouts are you??? I'd love to meet you!

I am SOOOOO excited! I'll be able to tool around and visit anybody and everybody I want to!! I'll also be able to pay my respects to my Dad and Mom at their "dirt condo" at Rose Hill Memorial Park. I'm staying at my best friend's condo in Newington. Total days there = 11!! This will be the BEST vacation ever!

Kuhio98,

ROFLMAO! If I can find him one, I'LL take pictures!!! :p

Davidp,

I'm leaving on the 4th of August after work and driving through. Not sure you're going to want to stay up till all hours of the night waiting for me. How about me stopping on the way back though?? I'll be heading back to Michigan on the 15th or 16th. I'll make sure I'll have enough time to spend with you and the girls.

Donna, I live in Lisbon for the moment...just about 30 minutes from Niantic.

We will be leaving on 8/5 for Maine but it's only for the weekend. I work days at the hospital and get out at 4:30...if you wanted to meet in Waterford for dinner at Olive Garden or Panera breadshop. Let me know if you up to meeting...I would love to meet you.

:eek:
"Straight Through" and AFTER work??

MapQuest says Ecourse >>> Newington is
670 Miles and 11 Hours!

And MapQuest routes you through CANADA ...
Into Ontario at Detroit/Windson - out above Niagra Falls ...
Pittsburgh is a bit "off" that straight line path! :p

Newington >>> Pittsburgh is 480 miles = 8 Hours driving.
Pittsburgh >>> Ecourse is 277 miles = 4.5 Hours driving.

Phred,

I'm not going through Canada, as it would be a hassle driving through customs with a goofy hairless cat named MooShoo.

I'm getting a Triple A "triptik" which will guide me there without having to go through Canada. I'm seriously thinking about leaving very early Friday morning instead of Thursday night. Makes more sense, and me and MooShoo (my co-pilot) will be well rested.

Actually, Canadian (going IN) and US (coming OUT) Customs hardly
even *noticed* the Three Mutts during our visit!

On the way to Kia's Birfday Partee, we all crossed over the Border
to watch the Tug Boat Race at Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

I had ALL their paperwork with me in a folder -
* Last Vet Visit reports
* Shot records
* Rabies Shots receipts
* County License receipts

Going IN, I spent most of my "interview" with the (cute ;) ) Canadian
Customs Girl asking about getting the Dogs back *OUT* of Canada
and returning to the USA without any problems ...
She only "asked" if the were current on Rabies - and declined my offer to
look at the paperwork or any of their "tags".
She insisted there would be NO problem returning - especially since
I had "paperwork" to prove ownership.

Returning through a different crossing point, the Canadians didn't even
>wave< G-Bye; and the American Customs Guy didn't even ASK
about the Dogs! He only wanted to know if I had *bought* anything
that I needed to declare. :rolleyes:

If you have Moo's "shot records" along with you;
I doubt you'd have a bit of trouble going through Canada.

I've been to Canada a few times with Kia and every time she was snoring in the back and the customs folk never saw her.

Had her records just in case though. :)

I've been giving it alot of thought and have decided to leave MooShoo at home. With all the running around I'll be doing, it's not fair to stress him out. I know how much he loves riding in the car, and I would love the company. But going to CT is ALOT more than just driving to the nearest PetSmart. It's better that way.

I know I'll get the cold shoulder when I get back. But I'll deal with it.
