Birthdays?

I've noticed that a lot of PT'ers do not have their birthdays lissted in their profiles.
Just wondering why? Especially when you's answer posts about age.

I don't care about people knowing my age. I'm 42, but I'd be somewhat embarassed by a thread tossed up there for me, asking for birthday wishes. I do much better with all the attention being lavished on Oz, Murph and Gull. :)

I think mine is on there, I just left the year out. Not that I care that people know now, it's 1958. But at the time I joined, I just didn't see any reason for putting in the year. I guess I was feeling really old that day.

I noticed a lot of other people leave the year out, also.

The reason I don't have mine up is because I guess I didn't feel it quite necessary for the whole world to know my birthday. ;) LOL! No important reason. I just normally only put what's 'required' in the profile when joining a board, and anything that isn't required, well...its sometimes left out. Its just not important to me that the whole board should know when its my birthday. ;)

Isn't it funny how differently people handle this one? I love birthdays and I don't mind one bit if someone starts a birthday thread for me or if they know how old I am. OLD!!!! :o I always try to respond to the ones that are posted if I have some sort of relationship with the person who is celebrating. I am bad about looking to see who is having a birthday, though. :o

Another reason that I have always left mine in my profile is in case someone doesn't know me well enough and wonders what age person I am. Sometimes you just want to know. But I do not fault anyone for not having their birthday or at least the year on there.
