Yes, I'm a Trekie!
I just heard that the actor who played Scotty (my favorite) died today at age 85 from pneumonia!

He now joins Bones (my other favorite) who has been gone for years. Now they can explore the heavens without the Enterprise!

Bye Scotty!

fyi: James Doohan aka Scotty was from Canada!

RIP James...one of the best characters from Star Trek and a fellow Canadian.

You have done canadians proud and now you take your eternal resting place among the heavens and the stars.

Oops! Sorry, Scotty, I had your name spelled wrong! It's fixed now.

I heard it on Fox news this morning.

My favorite show was THE TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES!

The last line where the Captain was asking Scott how he got rid of the Tribbles and how he did it, still crackes me up!

Scotty, just grinned and said, "It was no tribble at all!!!!"

I was at one of the last conventions he appeared at. I actually got to meet him and talk for a bit. He seemed like a genuinely nice fellow.

RIP Mr. Doohan. :(

In the 80's I attended some conventions.
I met James "Scotty" Doohan.
I aslo met Sulu, Uhura, "Bones" and Checkov.

I never met the 'majors': Spock or Kirk. They rarely, if ever did conventions.

It was a fun passtime back then, with all the movies coming out. And then Next Generation did a fine job at keeping the Trek flame alive.

Here's to ya, Scotty.
Cheers.
