AFTER ALL,I AM SO DUMB,THAT I THOUGHT POUNCETTE,WAS DECLAWED,AND SHE HAS A FINE SET,OF CLAWS.

I was the exact same way with Butter, believe it or not! I'll have to research back and find the posts I made that first week about fearing that he was declawed and worrying that I was not letting him in my house (I was hoping, of course, that he would go back to wherever he came from). :o Obviously he didn't go back and obviously, he HAD claws, which he showed to me very soon! LOL!!!!!

AND THE THING WAS,THAT I PRESSED HER FRONT PAWS,AND SAW NOTHING.SHE IS A VERY MILD CAT,THAT NEVER SCRATCHED AT THE OTHER FOUND CATS,NOT ONCE.
SOMETIMES,YOU GET AN IDEA,IN YOUR HEAD,AND YOU CANT SHAKE IT.
THE IDEA,I AM SHAKING MY HEAD,AS TO HOW,A VETERAN CAT GUARDIAN,COULD HAVE MADE AMISTAKE,LIKE THAT.

Well, you are more experienced than I am, Gary, but I made the same mistake. LOL!!!!!! We live and learn, I guess!!!! :o

I searched and searched and never could find the thread about when Butter showed up here. It is driving me crazy! I think it was January of 2001, but I can't find that period of time under either of my sign in names!!!! :( Those were some "precious" memories that seem to be lost. I know I posted about NOT keeping that cat! LOL!!!

I had a foster cat one time who I thought was declawed. It turns out that the cat, who was abandoned by it's owner, had walked so far (until I found him under a car) that it wore his nails down to the point where you couldn't see them.

I have a foster named Woody who's enormous, and at first I thought he was declawed. When he gets upset he boxes you with his paws. I could feel the claws, but he controls them very well!
