We finally finished building the hurdle yesterday (who knew a simple hurdle would take so much effort?), and I immediately tested it out. I'm quite proud of it because we used a cut PVC tube as the 'jump cup' (like you'd find in competition hurdles) so there's no unsightly PVC pipe hanging over the edge. :p Well, you'll know what I mean when you see the pics :)

The Hurdle...

And Lucky

Aaand, that's pretty much it since it's been freakishly hot and Lucky isn't in the mood to work. But here's an old pic of him on the dogwalk:

Very cool! Lucky is adorable. :)

We've started working with the dogs off leash in agility class now, and Daisy's having a little trouble with the jumps.. she'll go over them when she's on the leash, but when I take her off, she won't go over the jumps and ends up going around them instead to follow me. Ah, well.. we gotta practice, I guess! She's very good at learning to connect obstacles, though.

Anyway, sorry for rambling.. I'm becoming an agility nut. :p

LOL! Awww, I totally understand what you're saying. Lucky is awesome off-leash, but he has a problem with curves. For example, he'll run off the dogwalk, but he won't run in a curve towards the hurdle. He'll just run around it. My weirdo:rolleyes:

What a cute dog! Looks like you've got a good start on practicing at home.

I have a jump just like that that I bought for $15. I was hoping to make more and use that one as a guide but I never got to it. How much did it cost and how long did it take you? I'm not sure if I should buy or make my next ones!

Thanks everybody :)!

K9Krazee, building this was incredibly simple because my father has access to a plethora of tools that I've never even heard of  So it only took half an hour to an hour (the hard part was figuring out how many inches each part should be). All in all, I think the hurdle costed around 5$ or so.

Thanks Vette :D

YES! Lucky likes agility loads more than Giselle. Sometimes I joke Giselle only knows how to run, sleep, and eat. I've never done formal agility with Lucky but I did take classes with Giselle (she was a failure :p).
