Well, 6 was a lonely number with Tex at the RB. So, despite my intentions not to adopt anytime soon, things worked out differently. Here is "Gus", a 4 month old male, that I have had since July 1st.

Gus has been introduced to the herd, and is now in the GP (general population). Last night was the second night in GP, and WOW was it a loud one! No fights, just tons of kittenly action. Apparently, Monte has met his match. He will NOT leave Gus alone, and they play non-stop. The only one not totally fine with Gus is Tenny. Tenny will walk, hiss and growl for ten feet in a row, and Gus isn't anywhere to be seen. Ten's feathers are ruffled, but, I have no doubt he will come around. He always has. Gus is still a bit skittish around me, but, I have petted him and held him without incident.

So, Gus may change his name, but, right now, it is Augusta! Welcome him to his forever home.

Gus is so cute!:D
Congratulations on the new addition!
Gus is a cool cat name, when my dad was a kid he had a black and white cat named Gus who had a little Charlie Chaplin mustache.

So how did you get him?
If I had known that you really were ready for another cat I would have sent over Kansas the black kitty from my local shelter.;)

The story of Gus....

Like his nickname, the story of Gus is relatively short. A friend of a friend found this little orphan nearly a month ago wandering her property. She fed him, he came back, and back. She is highly allergic, and wasn't really interested in a cat. She made contact with me, through the mutual friend, and we were all set to make the transfer....BUT she got cold feet. She had grown accustomed to Gus. So, plans went on hold for a week. I followed up, as I was concerned with Gus living the life of an outdoor kitty-though she did let him in during the day. She was ready to let him go. BUT, on that day of the adoption, her HUSBAND called, and said he was bringing Gus over, as his wife couldn't bear to part with him. :( I emailed her to tell her maybe this meant Gus should stay with her. But, she had made her mind up. So, on July 1st (wow, a week ago today!) Gus came on over to tux'ville.

He is a large cat, with the hugest paws and longest tail I have seen. I would think he is every bit of 5 pounds. He gives Montie the biggest run for his money- which is SUCH a blessing to the girl cats. Gus has completely blended in, which is the benefit of adding kittens to the herd. Tenny is STILL not happy, but, that will change.

Gus is such a playful little guy. I can't wait until he is snuggly with me. Thanks for welcoming him to the PT family.

Johanna

Welcome to PT Gus! You certainly are a cutie. It will fun to see how big you get and to see how long Tenny keeps growling. (We Tennessseans are picky sometimes ;) )
