My 30 mile commute today got me to thinking about gas prices...

I was wondering what prices were in other areas (Including other countries). We are right around the 2.39 to 2.50 a gallon range for regular (BTW I'm in northern Nevada). I was curious to see if we are higher or lower than average, what the highest prices are etc.

Can you tell I'm bored :p

Edit: I drive a car that gets about 45mpg and the gas prices are starting to sock me between the eyes! (with commuting and all). It used to be that 10 bucks would fill up my car from dead empty but now I need over 20 :(. Am I the only one getting irritated?

Gas where I live is around 2.19 a gallon.
If I cross the border to Georgia though it's 2.04.
I try to go once a week. I save about 4 dollars of gas per trip.
In Italy gas prices are outragious.... and we complain.
A liter of gas is around 3 dollars. You do the math!
OK I'll do it.... that makes gas about 12 a gallon.
That's why everyone has those tiny compact cars.
I used to drive a Clio when I lived there.

Our wonderful Governor imposed a sin tax, effective today, on cigarretes and alcohol. We also have, effective today, a 3 cent tax added to our gas. Here in Seattle the gas is $1.45 for regular. That's just one station I saw though. They all vary.

Around here it's about $2.25-$2.45 now, it keeps going up.

Gas is $2.23 here in south eastern West Virginia. My husband has about 40 minute to work and 40 min drive back. His truck is a gas hog too.

I filled my tank this morning on the way to work. It was $2.14/gallon. ALOT cheaper than other places I've seen.

But then again, they play head games with you. They drop the prices to make you THINK you're getting a good deal per gallon. Just think of when gas was $1.19/gallon.

*sigh*

So far it seems as if we Nevadans are taking it in the shorts :p

I went out to Dayton yesterday (a small town about 10 mi east of Carson City) and saw that gas was up to 2.60 out there

I just about peed myself!

I long for the days my dad tells me about when gas cost 10 cents a gallon...

I remember back in the 70's when it went up to 50 cents a gal.

Ours around here yesterday were 2.19/gal. But that was yesterday...I hadn't noticed today...

In Pittsburgh, the average price for regular gas is $2.19 a gallon. I know a station that has it for $2.17 a gallon.

Right now gas is 1.05 a litre which would be just over 4 bucks a gallon Canadian dollars. At today's exchange rate, a gallon of gas costs 3.23 in US dollars.

I drive a truck. It costs me over 100 bucks to fill it.

I remember back in the 70's when it went up to 50 cents a gal.

It wasn't too long ago that we were paying 1.10 a gallon (2003).

The highest I've seen it here so far was just on Tuesday. They jacked it up to $2.29/gl. Luckily it went back down the next day to $2.15.

Af for those of you talking about the sin tax, July 1st Ohio raised the cigarette tax a whopping $.70/pack:eek: Good thing the hubby and I quit!

Anna,

I remember YEARS ago when my mother used to send me to the store to buy her cigarettes. They were 25 cents a pack back then!

It's around $2.10 here. With a car that gets only 18 mile to a gallon and huge tank, it take $60 to fill up.

It turns out after looking into it, it's cheaper for me to fly to NY, round trip, this August, then it would be for me to drive. So now I'm going alone, no husband, no pups, sense it's cheper to fly. :( I don't think I can remember when it turned out cheaper to fly, over drive.

Gasoline here in Arkansas is 2.16 today.
I would like to know if there are excise taxes on gasoline in other countries.
The federal and state tax on gasoline here is 27% according the the web site that was mentioned.
