I really loved the pic that she put up of her cat and dog and I thought I would do the same thing. Then I realized I never really introduced myself properly. I initially came on with a question of my dog suddenly attacking my cat, you gave me some wondeful advice, then I just started posting away. How rude of me! :o
Anyway, my name is Debby and I live in Chicago. I have 2 cats, Sammy and Payton (pics to follow) and a dog named Maggy, aka the apple of my eye. I am married to a wonderful man named Hugo for 4 years and we are expecting our first human child at the end of the year.
We adopted Sammy from our local Anti-Cruelty society when I first moved to Chicago. We were told he was a stray, so he was fostered for a bit, then he adoped us.

Maggy was a different story. My husband never had a dog growing up! Can you believe that? I think it should be a law that all little boys have at least one puppy in their childhood. Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox, but I convinced him that I wanted a puppy since I left my 3 with my mom back home. I knew I wanted a shih tzu since that's what I had at home, but at the time, I couldn't afford a pure bred. I saw an ad in the paper advertising shih tzu/lhasa apso mixed pups. I figured lhasas look very similar to shih tzus, so we went to look at them. Out of a litter of 4, only 2 were left, a male and a female. One look at Maggy and my heart melted. She came home with us and has been the reigning princess ever since.

Payton, on the other hand, was a bit of an oops. My mom had come to visit me from out of state for Christmas. Her sister was supposed to be watching her dogs and cat. She let the cat out when she was in heat and 3 months later, hello Payton. My mom knew we would give him a good home, so we agreed to fly him back to Chicago. He's been a handful ever since, but we love him just the same.

Thank you all for welcoming me into your wonderful group. I look forward making new doggie, kitty and human friends. :)
