My pet bird is an 8 year old Sun Conure. She has been ill.

Her right wing is extended and high... she is quiet, normally she is boisterous and noisy. I am worried.

The vet said the x-ray of her wing was OK. He can't find anything wrong.

I am baffled.

Is there anyone who can offer suggestion, or has experienced a similar case?

Who cut the birds flight feathers? I noticed the flight feathers were cut on the bird in the picture. Not to be insultful, but it looks like it may have been done wrong. The cut looks excessive.
My best guess is that one of the main feathers got nicked or cut off. Equivalant to cutting a finger off to us humans. However, it should grow back eventually. There are some feathers that do carry their own blood supply and can NOT be cut off. I think it is the last 3 feathers toward the outside of the wing you do NOT touch.
If there was blood, try some septic powder or corn starch to stop the bleeding. Please don't cut the wing of the bird yourself if you don't know for sure which feathers to cut. Have someone at the vets office do it.
The good news is that it should heal but it will take some time. You will have to wait till the feathers grow back. Hopefully they will. Good luck!
