Anyone familier with the Predator movies (Predator (http://imdb.com/title/tt0093773/), Predator 2 (http://imdb.com/title/tt0100403/), and the recent Alien Vs. Predator (http://imdb.com/title/tt0370263/)) will recognize my latest costume. Andy owns one as well and we are currently putting one together for my dad.

Mine was completed last Halloween, but this Saturday was the first time I could get some good shots of it outdoors.

Kia is well familier with the costumes Andy and I own. Seamus on the other hand, was not too sure. ;) :p

Seamus was sitting by Andy. If you watch towards the lower left at the beginning of the video, you'll see Kia coming out of the brush with me. She was sitting next to me, bumping against my hand wanting head scritches. *laughs*

The hard armor was made for me using my measurements. I'm wearing a flesh colored body suit that has been airbrushed. Andy made the head and dredlocks, the hands, and feet.

Many different people make certain pieces of the costume. You can find a lot on eBay, either completed or in kit form.

We rushed putting it on because we didn't want to lose the daylight, so we got it on in a half hour. The shin armor is just loosely attached. That's the piece that honestly take the longest because it laces up the back.

The shoulder cannon has a LED light in it and glows red when I push a button. :D

At first my parents tolerated the costuming, but when Dad found out we had Predator costumes, he said he had to have one. :D

That's hilarious! I would pay you SO much freakin' money to come scare the crap out of my husband... his "thing" is aliens, he's scared to death of them. Seeing you standing outside our kitchen window would give him a heart attack. I'm cracking up just IMAGINING it!! LOL

And Mom actually said if Andy and I wanted to get in costume for pictures prior to suiting up into our wedding attire, then we could. :D

They are actually not that bad. The weight of the dredlocks counterbalances the weight of the mask, so it sits nicely on my head. Andy's head is a bit heavier than mine, because he has more dredlocks and a larger mask.

What Kim didn't mention was that it was around 90 degrees outside when she decided to go out and take pictures. ANY of our costumes are very hot by themselves, but add in the added heat outside and she's a real trooper. :)

(But the movies say Predators are most comfortable in really high heat. They probably have a hotter homeworld than Earth.)
