I took my kayak out today to a HUGE lake just south of my house, Marsh Lake. It's a massive lake. The lake itself was kinda nasty today. It's long, wide and straight so it gets very big waves on it with very little wind! So I stuck to a bay, M'Clintock Bay, for the start of my paddle.

This is where I launched my boat from, the M'Clintock River just off the Alaska Highway. It feeds into Marsh Lake.

I paddled down into the bay.

There are some very nice "cabins" on the bay. Lots of people live there year round now.
Then I turned around and paddled back up to my truck.

But I didn't feel like going home yet. The M'Clintock River has a fairly mild current so paddling against it wasn't too bad. So I decided to keep going upstream.

I went under the bridge--that's the Alaska Highway.

The creek was beautiful! There was a moose in these trees, but she took off before I could get the camera out of my dry bag.

I paddled a couple miles upstream. Then I realized that this wasn't where I had told my hubby I would be so I decided not to go too much farther. It was so peaceful back there! I am definately going back soon.
