A private company failed when they tried to send a satellite into orbit with a 'solar sail'..
In layman's terms.....
A light source puts out energy in the form of photons.....
small particles of light. The idea of a solar sail is to use the
photons, from the sun, to hit a sail, made of mylar..
The mylar collects the photons and uses that energy to propel the craft.....much like the wind acts on the sail of a sail boat.
----------------------------------------------------
Every time I fire up the computer and the light above the desk
Edward HAS to come over and jump on the keyboard which is right under the desk light.
---------------------------------------------------
THe photons of the desk lamp pin Edward, in the same way they act upon a solar sail, on the desk while I try to type.
You trekkies know what I am talking about....
what's more deadly?
A photon torpedo or a photon laden cat???
