:) I have people that dont understand me putting Ice in my outside Dogs water bowls morning & night in the Summer Months. They all say why do you do that & laugh at me. Well when we are hot we like something cold to drink right & well I say the same is for my dogs. They are hot & want something cold to drink. One of my dogs begs for a big ice cube & just lays down & licks it till all gone. Please tell me that I am not crazy for doing this.

My dogs (cats & ferrets) all get ice water in the hot weather! They love it.

I do the same, as well as giving ice cubes to my girl straight - she loves to chomp them.

I do it too but Jack seems to think they are just play things. He digs in the bowl and usually ends up knocking it over, I put some in his kiddie pool too and he loves to play with them.

I put ice cubes in my dog's water bowl in the summer, even when he is inside. He loves it. Don't worry, I think lots of people do that.

I give Finn ice as treats, and, put them in the bowl we keep on the patio. It's climate controlled and comfortable indoors, so, I usually don't put ice in his inside bowl. But, definitely outdoors.

Mine love ice cubes! They dive for them in the water bowl and eat them. Sierra takes them out, rolls all over them on the living room floor then she'll eat them. Crazy Girl!!
Buddy just chomps them like they're treats!

I put ice in Gracie's water too. Not just in the summer though, I also do it in the winter. She loves ice. If she see ice hanging off of our roof she will cry until we get it for her. Lol. I stopped giving the cats ice because they refuse to drink out of the water dish when it's in there. They don't like floaties.

I always fill the dog's water bowl with icecubes, but ONLY their outside one!! If we do it in the kitchen, the kitchen becomes a SWAMP. Kiara likes to take them out and eat them and with that, half of the water comes out too!

My dogs love ice, especially Hunter. If I could mimick the sound of the ice dispensor in the frig going off he'd have a perfect recall. I can't put it in their bowl though, the one time I tried I ended up with water all over the kitchen floor and no water in their bowl!!:D

Next time somebody says something ask if they would want to drink warm water. Shame on them for not thinking of the dogs. Autumn loves ice cubes. She eats half and leaves the rest to melt on the floor so I can step in it!

NiƱo won't eat ice straight so I put it in his water bowl, but Layla used to come into the kitchen and lay with her back legs straight out and beg for ice, then slober up the floor with it.

If I had a dog, I'd put ice in thier water too! When I watch my boss's dogs, I always give them ice water.

In the summer, I add water to my cat's fountain. Why wouldn't they want cool water too??

Well, if you are crazy for doing this then it looks like alot of us are ;).

I occasionally put ice in the pups' water and they both like to crunch on ice like a treat. Especially Katie.

We always put ice in our dogs' water tub in the summer. I can't imagine NOT doing it for them. They deserve cool drinks in the hot weather as much as, if not more than, any humans I know!

When I put ice in their water dish, Lucy likes bobbing for the ice cubes. I think it is so cute. She also likes to just eat ice.

I give them ice cubes to play with sometimes, but it's rare that I put them in their bowls. I fill their bowl up several times a day and it's in a nice cool air conditioned house, so it stays a nice temperature all day. I have water outside for them too, in a shaded area of the patio, but they usually head back inside to drink.

I think I'll toss some ice cubes in there tonight and see if they'll play with'em though.

I put cubes in MAXIMUS bowl before, and he barked at it. Maybe I should try it again. He won't eat ice cubes, but he'll chase them all over the kitchen trying to lick them.

I put them in Maggie and Sadie's outside bowl sometimes. Maggie likes to scoop them out and play with them all the time getting all the water out of the bowl. It doesn't hurt them so what's the big deal. :)

I put ice in their bowls all the time. Speedo likes to try to fish out the cubes to play with. I also freeze water in larger containers (like yogurt & ice cream ones) so I can put a really big chunk in their waterbucket. It lasts a long time and they seem to like the cooler water.
