Just curious if anyone has seen or heard of these kitties, they are really beautiful, similar to a Russian Blue,or is korat just the fancy name for them I wonder, apparently they love being indoors, so good to keep as indoor kitties only, love human company, can be very stubborn, but easily trained if you are firm, they are real characters, they sell for around 300 dollars a kitten, I have not seen them at our local cat shows, but wondered if anyone else has? Gorgeous kitties.

Here's the breed profile picture from Cat Fancy:

When Basie was a baby, we thought he had Korat in him. Especially when he was going through his color changing routine. The roots of his hair are still the color of "stormclouds". :)

Carole,

A Korat is similar to a Russian Blue/Burmese. The only difference is they are more on the slender side and their eyes don't turn green till their almost 3 years old.

I had a Korat named Tucker. He was a resuce from a kill shelter in NYC. Unfortunately he didn't get along with my cat Casey. So, he is now living with my good friends in Connecticut. He is the love of their lives.

They look so pretty, I thought maybe it was just another name for a Russian Blue as they are so similar, I would love to have one of them, but then I am always partial to the moggie.:)

Sorry I thought moggie was a world wide term, he he, it is just kitties like my two, no special breed, I suppose you could say it is the cat version of mutt or bitzer lol.:D

I think 'moggie ' is the British/Aussie term for 'regular cat'

:p

If you go to the CatoftheDay.com home page, and search, you'll see a few other Korats or Korat mixes.

Korats have a heart shaped face:) And yes they are rare.

I have heard that word moggie around here often, and just like "mutt" for the dogs I understood it immediately. The funny thing is I learn so many new spoken language words here taht I cannot find in a dictionary and then I ask my American co-worker and he has never heard them before:D As I start to use these words in my work I must sound very strange now for some native speakers from different sides of the world:D :D :D
