He's doing great! He's been a little less social lately, I think it's because he finally realizes that he is safe in my house and can do whatever he pleases. lol I hope he turns back into that lovey dovey lap cat again. lol

Meko still wants nothing to do with him. It's actually getting a little worse. She used to just hiss, then she started to hiss & growl, then she started to get better by just hissing again, now she is hissing, growling & swatting. She does not get close to him, I think she's more afraid of him than anything. She pretty much just swats at the air. Tiki is starting to get ballsy and going up to her, almost like he's teasing her. I am almost to the point where I am worried someone might get hurt. Tiki man is pushing his buttons.

Anyways here's the man I've been trying to post pics of for almost a couple weeks now. lol

What a little cutie pie he is! :D

I think he and Meko will eventually work things out. It might be good to keep an eye on them until he gets a little bigger, but he will soon learn that she wants nothing to do with him - poor little guy. ;) So, weren't there two of them that you trapped? What happened to the other one? Maybe you should keep him/her too so Tiki has somebody to play with. ;)

We actually caught all the kittens & the momma, all 4 kitties were boys!!!
My friend Debby kept 2, my friend Mel kept one & I got him. An older lady that lives next to Debby kept the momma.
We STILL have to catch the dad.

Tiki's got playmates up the ying yang. lol He plays with all 5 of my ferrets, my 2 dogs & especially my b/f's dog!
I swear he goes up to Meko just to taunt her, you can see it in his evil little eyes (well they are only evil eyes when Meko's around).

The fact that I have to hold him down everyday to clean & treat his ears for mites probably doesn't help the fact that he's less social to me. lol lol I just started to give that duty to my b/f so he doesn't associate me as the evil ear lady. lol

Darling little boy! No wonder Meko's jealous. This, too, shall pass (but not w/o a bit of hissing and posturing).

Tiki is so cute! :) He reminds me of our Bailey when we first took him in as a stray - he was that size, and the markings are very similar. :)

Here are a couple pics of Bailey as a baby cat - probably 4-6 weeks old (Oct 2002) for comparison:

Jayna, I'm not sure if the pics show it different or if Bailey is just a huge boy but Tiki's vet guessed him to be 11 weeks in those pics, he's be about 13 now. I don't think he's huge, but he is a big boy, the biggest out of the litter.

He sure can talk though, boy oh boy can he talk. lol

Tiki wants to tell everyone thanks for boosting his ego. You can all stop now, I'm afraid his head might burst soon. LOL :D

Well, the first two pics were from the end of Oct 2002, when the vet estimated that Bailey was only 4-6 weeks old. The last pic was from Thanksgiving 2002, when Bailey was probably 8-10 weeks old. Bailey was only 1.5 lbs when those first couple of pics were taken, but today, he weighs 16 lbs, 3 oz. He is still a very lean kitty though - he is very tall and muscular. :) That's actually a good weight for his frame. Leo's a tiny 1/2 inch or less taller than Bailey, but he has a gut on him, whereas Bailey doesn't, which makes Leo a little bigger at 17 lbs. If we'd raised Leo, he might not have gotten that gut, but he was on his own for quite some time before he was rescued by the rescue group and adopted by us - no telling what he lived through!

They are amazing, fun, angelic little creatures, and it's great to see them grow from silly, cute little kittens in to magnificent cats! :)

Tiki weighs about 2 lbs now. He was 1.7 almost 2 weeks ago.
Bailey is so cute!

Wow, cute little Tiki sure is tiny for his age! :) I'm sure he'll catch up, though. They certainly do grow up fast. Enjoy him!

Seeing that an elderly lady (she's the one who noticed the kitties next door to her under an abonded apartment) fed them mainly bread (thats all she had to spare) I figured that his growth may be stunted.
The vet didn't say anything about him being underweight or small for his age though. I don't think so either. Hmmm, maybe the vet told me the wrong weight by accident or something. I'll have to see if he registers on my home scale tonight.

You know, you can get on the scale without Tiki, record your weight, then pick up Tiki and get on the scale and record your weight together and then figure out the difference, and that's how you'll know how much he weighs.

I still have to do that with my guys, and they're grown kitties! Their weight along will not register on my scale. :)
