Somedays it's just too hot to do anything, especially when you're a husky who hasn't shed all their winter coat yet!

More laziness

Poor bored Pingo!

Preacher's always lazy. He just moved outside to lounge around instead of laying on his dog bed in the house!

Snoozing Mac. I think Mac's the sweetest thing I've ever seen when he's asleep! He's sweet awake too, but he melts my heart when he's out cold!

Chum's been sleeping all day, but still yawning!

Too hot to play so Heyoka joins the lazy bunch.

Sleet must sleep by her new hole, in case the urge to dig strikes again!

Paxil laying under the porch swing--closer to the door so she can race inside if she gets a chance!

Hard to believe they are such hard workers in the winter!

Talk about being on vacation and taking it easy. I'm glad it's nice and warm where you're at, not soggy like here.

That almost looks just like my dogs.. Laying around, on top of their houses/barrels. But on cool days they get ready to pull the 4-wheeler. By the way you have nice dogs!

LOL, good sleeping spots Roxey! You look very comfy. Mac likes to sleep on top of my husband's car, but he's sneaky about it so I never catch him when I have the camera!

Is Paxil a low content wolf dog?

That's it guys. Take it easy, winter will be here soon enough. How do you exercise them off season? I know they are hard workers, in the snow. Do they get antsie about doing their job, or do they take full advantage of the warm weather?

Nope, she comes from a long line of distance racing Alaskan Huskies. The line started with some seppela siberians and has been bred for speed and stamina. I know who bred her so I have more info on her than I normally do! No wolf--a bit of border collie, some hound, lots of husky mixed in her lines.

They will get a few more weeks completely off. I usually give them two months of nothing--well, no work. They get to go for off-leash hikes, bike rides and fun stuff. Later in July they start to pull again. I hook them to the ATV, just take the lines off the sled and hook it to the grill of the ATV. On warmer days, the ATV does most of the work and we stop at the lake for a swim. As it gets cooler, they get less help. In the summer and early fall, they go for short, quick runs with the ATV. 5, maybe 10 km. After September they start doing longer runs until there is enough snow to use the sled.

They enjoy their time off. Gives them a chance to relax and let any little aches and pains heal up. But they start to get a little stir crazy too. Way more trouble in the summer than the winter! They go nuts when they see the ATV come out of the shop!

LOL!! Your yard looks very similar to my parents house.

The cats will just flop down on the floor upstairs and it looks like they have a house full of dead cats.

Mom can't fathom why they won't go downstairs where it's much cooler.

I think it's because they are trying to guilt trip her into getting A.C. ;) :D
