Hubby has to do a lesson plan on the movement west, specifically the Chinese slaves that built the railroads. We are not being particuarly creative regarding this project - usually we have a fun project tied to the lesson plan. Not just read info and test the kids on it, but they might make a poster or work with partners to make a play, SOMETHING to make the info more interesting.

Any ideas as to what we could do?

hmm, our class just watched movies on it and had sheets to study from for the test and that was it lol we did do presentations though, with powerpoint presenetations and pictures etc.. mind you I guess it was more interesting to us as I live in Regina, where much of this took place lol

A fascinating subject, considering the chinese actually built the railroad west to east. The working conditions going through the mountains I found quite unbelievable. I would probably focus on the race between the rail coming from the east coast against the rail from the west. :)
