WOW.. I'm so tired! I went over to my sisters house this weekend to babysit Mercedes and Bentley, because her husband took her to Vegas for her 21st B-day. I drove there Friday morning and I just got home a couple hours ago.. of course I brought Gonzo, so I had to keep up with 3 hyper dogs. I seriously can't imagine how some of you do it :p
Saydee and Gonzo got along really well! They played a LOT in the yard, while Ben hung out in the house (he gets over-heated really quickly, and it was 80+ outside). I know I haven't posted pics of Saydee FOREVER.. shes soo cute! I think she's the closest resemblance to Kay's Kiara that I've ever met. And, I'm 99% sure she doesn't have much Border Collie in her blood.. she does have a slight undercoat in some areas (on her butt and her neck/chest), and she has the white blaze and chest. But her face is sooo Pittie!! I think she's 1/2 Pit Bull, 1/4 Border Collie and 1/4 Rottie (because of her rusty markings)... with some other breeds thrown in, too.
It was sooooooo sad, I took Gonzo and Saydee to this small dog park thats about a 2-minute drive away, and Saydee was so petrified. She was just painfully shy. I know my sister has taken her places and taken her out to socialize her on a DAILY basis, every day wherever they can go. She's even taken Saydee to work a lot, and runs with her daily. But, Saydee's behavior definitely goes to show how important it is to socialize puppies. She is SO uncomfortable anywhere that she hasn't spent a long time at... she has been to the dog park a few times before, but she still acts scared and just runs around with her tail tucked and freaked out. Gonzo had fun at the park, there was only 4 dogs there, but Saydee growled and ran from any dog that approached her :( it really worries me. She's SO sweet and confident at home or at familiar places, but it seems almost impossible to get her used to going to strange places. I feel so bad for her. In case you missed it, my sister adopted her from the county shelter in February, when Saydee was around 5-6 months old and listed as a "Border Collie Mix". She was found as an emaciated stray, and she still eats her food like she's starving!!
