View Full Version : Zam is Missing

I need good vibes. Zam did a door-dart at 11:30 p.m. last night and has been missing ever since.

I had cracked the window by the door hoping to hear her but ended up dozing off and woke at 6 a.m. in a panic.

I searched the woods, the complex, and all around. I even checked the railroad tracks and the roads and thankfully she was not there.

I've ran into a few tenants and asked them to keep a look out for her. I plan to call my vet and give the shelters a call later.

Other than being hurt, my biggest fear is that someone took her.

Prayers and good vibes appreciated.

Had to come back: Zam being an indoor kitty it is very likely that she did not go far but is too scared to come out! Just think of Lil'Eli!

Since Zam was a stray in the area, I'm confident that she at least has a basic understanding of her surroundings.

One of the first places I went looking for her is where I first found her and her kittens.

But the scenery has changed a bit and it's the fear of not knowing if she's hurt or trapped somewhere. :(

She has a collar and a tag. Hopefully she hasn't lost them.

I hope she returns safely. Zam has done that 'door dart' quite a lot lately, whenever Kim comes home after midnight from her parents. That seems the time of day she really wants to leave and go outside. Usually Kim said she'll just be somewhere around the building downstairs. But this time, I don't know. :(

Kim said she thought Zam was owned by someone around there before her, since she had absolutely no fear of people, unlike her kittens. Maybe her original owner found her again? I have no clue. I only know how sad Kim was when she called me this morning, and it's not pleasant to hear. Zam is a very sweet cat and I know it's tearing Kim up being at her job and not being able to go look some more around her complex for Zam. :(

It scared me when she said none of the food that was left outside was touched, since I've never known Zam to turn down a free meal, especially over the course of a whole night. :(

Kimmy, I'm so sorry Zam hasn't come home yet. :( I really hope she will show up soon! I'm sure you'll go look for her after work - and don't give up, she's there somewhere .... unless her former owner has taken her in.

It's always a good idea to search around dusk, that's the time they get active - or when everything is quiet. Bring some treats along.

Good luck finding her. :)

Hugs!

:)

NawTee Kat ZAM

is back **HOME**

*Safe* & *Sound*

and **DIRTY** :D

Kimmy doesn't have a puter at home, and Andy's puter is busted -
so she couldn't post a "She's HOME" note.
Here's what I got from Kimmy just a few minutes ago:

Kimmy came home from work and began a search with Kia as Scout Dawg ...
NUFFIN Found or heard after a wide-area sweep.

About 8:00 PM Kimmy went back out <calling> & <listening>.

Kim went towards a wooded, "swampy" area near the apartments ~
and thought she heard a "MeeOw"

After a couple
"ZAM"
MeeOw
"ZAM"
MeeOw
exchanges, Kim was convinced Zammy was IN da Swamp.

"ZAM"
*JINGLE* - *JINGLE* went Zam's collar bell ...

Kim went IN da Swamp :(, almost *stepped* on the elusive KAT ...
and Zam went in DEEPER!

Kimmy was out of treets, so headed back to the apartment for more "bait" ...

Guess WHO was *waiting* at the front door when Kim arrived?

**MeeOWWWW* -- Open da dang DOOR, Mom!!
I need sum FOOD!!

The lil SNOT made a B-Line for the Food Bowl and woofed her fill;
got *checked out* by Kia and Logan;
submitted to a "quick check" by Mom (NO injuries found! :) ) ...
and began <Cleanin Up> - lotta *Swamp Gook* needs to come off!

Tomorrow she goes to da White Coat for her routine Exam & Shots -
and a more thorough Check-Out, but Kimmy is pretty sure
lil Zam is A-OK after her "night out".

MANY THANKS for all the Purrayers and Good Vibes -
looks like they Helped!!

(Wheeeew! )

Thanks for all the good vibes all! Phred summed it up pretty well.

When I went out again, I wasn't sure if what I was hearing was her, or those darn birds that sound like cats.

But when I heard the bell, I knew it was her, and so when I realized she wasn't going to come to me, I'd have to go to her! My shoes have seen better days... ;)

I couldn't believe she was at the door waiting for me! The little snot.

After a nice relaxing bath (for me, my arms were stinging from mosquito bites and nettles  ), I snapped some pics.
