I have a 7 month old female cat & all day today she has been making these whimpering noises & whenever she sits down every few seconds she will whimper & stick her bottom up & when she is laying down she keeps her bottom stuck up in the air. She has been doing this all day long! Does anyone have any idea on what could be wrong? e-mail me ([email protected])

Sounds like she might be in heat...

Is she spayed?

My guess is that she's in heat but if you are worried about her--please take her to the vet, just in case!

I think Zippy is right-your cat is probably in heat.
It would be a good idea to call your vet and schedule an appointment to have her spayed.

Don't worry - I also think Zippy-kat's right - she does sound like a furkid in heat. She sounds a lot worse than she is!!
Please do take her to your vet and get her spayed - unless you're going to breed from her.
Good luck
Lynne

I'm no vet, but I would BET a lot of money that she is in heat too!! Been there and done that too many times!!! Don't have her spayed while she is in heat, as there are more risks involved, but as soon as she stops, make an appointment and get that girl taken care of!! Nothing worse than a miserable female cat....and she is miserable, I'm sure. :o

OH and keep her away from the boys - unless you want the pitter patter of little paws a few weeks from now;)

You can have her spayed while she's in heat, it will not hurt her. It may cost you a bit more though.
