My mystery PM

Guys, I've got a bit of a PM mystery going on. At the bottom of the main menu, I note that I have 1 unread private message. But, when I go to my PMs, there are no new ones. None of them are in bold type. All of them have been read.

Soooo, if you've PM'd me and I haven't responded, please forgive me. For some reason, I can't see one of the messages and I have no idea who it is from.

Has this ever happened to you? :confused:

yeah! just a while ago, yesterday, I saw "19 unread messages" then going in, I only see 17s I've not read.. maybe the system need to be updated somehow?

do you have anyone on ignore?
that might be it
if they are on ignore it won't come thru...

I have had that happen to me before. I never knew why it happened either, but it eventually went away.

just wondered this, if you've been ingored, wouldn't you be told? I'd like to know, thanks! :)

if people are on your ignore list you don't get a message that says it.... That would defeat the purpose I think.....

When I had people on my ignore list I just didn't see posts by them as long as I was logged in....
and when I took them off a PM came in from one of them from months earlier
that is the only reason I asked about the ignore list....

Nope. I don't have anyone on my ignore list. It sounds like it will go away on its own one of these days.

Have you tried hitting refresh? I've had it happen, but I've always though it was just cause it never refreshed...

Is it a cancelled PM?

I was thinking perhaps you need to look back further than the last 30 days. If it is older than 30 days, it does not automatically show up.

that happens to me too, not that I get more than one a week or so, it is dissapointing to see "One new message" and it is one that you have read already.

Well, you guys were right. The PM cleared or refreshed or something because now they all show that I've read them. Thanks for your help. :D

I have had the same thing happen. I will receive an email that directs me to the private message link and I will read the message without actually being logged onto Pet Talk.

Then when I log on to Pet Talk it tells me that I have one unread private message - which I just read.

I think the key is to refresh - and then it goes away.
