This was a critical moment this morning!

A while ago, I got Lily one of these blue Catsan litterboxes with a frame, since Lily is always so wild with the litter that it's all over the floor after she used the box. It's a box like this:

Well, unfortunately, Lily has the habit to stand with her front legs on the edge of her box when she poops, and this morning it happened twice that the frame fell over and Lily got startled.

After the second mishappening, Lily went straight to Luna's box, to do her business there. Within seconds I decided to not let her, as we all know how touchy Luna is with her litter box business already, and I feared that Lily using her box now would cause severe damage to Luna's already strained relationship with her box.

So I brought Lily back to her own box, but she ran away. I then removed the frame and showed her the box, but poor Lily was already stressed, ran around hysterically and complained. I thought "Oh well, that's it! Now I'm gonna have two cats with litter box problems, just as if one cat wasn't enough!"

Then I had an idea. I took a plastic bowl, actually too small for a cat, filled it with litter and replaced the Catsan box. And 10 minutes later, I heard that familiar scratching sound... :) Now this bowl has to do as long as I don't find the perfect litter box for the Lily girl.

BTW, as soon as she has done her "big business", she was her old, happy self again! :)

Sorry, you got me laughting with Lily's drama box:o
This girl is full of personality.:D

Iuri, like to stand with his front legs on the edge of the box too. Thus no covered boxes here.

Kirsten, you should go for a box with clippers on the side, it works for me. found a nice one times ago. Ferplast is the brand.

In the attachemant is Iuri when I brought it home.

Poor Lily! What a trauma, and so soon after her birthday too! It's most disconcerting when your furniture moves around under you! :D

WELL! If the toilet seat slid out from under me while I was doing my business I'd probably move to the next bathroom too! ;)

*lol* that was funny!

Poor Lily... Hopefully she will forget about her potty box drama...

I built Tinky and Jupter a big tall box to put their litter boxes in, because they were always kicking litter on the floor. Then I painted flowers on it. It helps A LOT. Now all i have to do is scoop the litter out of the pott box box ;) and not off the floor!:)

I'll have to remember to take a picture and show you.... it works well.

That's what I was thinking too, Jen! Funny:)

I have my idea too and maybe you can do something similar Kirsten. I bought a tall plastic storage box and I call it my "sandy beach" - it sure does cut down on the messes!! Here is the link (http://www.petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59360&highlight=sandy+beach) and also a picture....:D The box is about 18 inches high,

Oh poor Lily! All of ours do the same thing. I buy their litter boxes at Wal-mart and the outer frame snaps on to the litter box part, fortunately. If not I could see this being a problem especially for my two tubby boys. Good luck on your search for the perfect litter box for Lily.

So, from now one, don't be surprised if you don't find biscuits, but...... a sandcastle like this ;)

I have one of those boxes too... only the problem I have with it is Abby keeps "missing" the inside of the box and the poops land on the outside. Then she tries and tries to get the litter OVER the box to cover what is not in the box. Talk about a mess! I'm thinking of doing Debbi'es sandy beach thing here too.

Debbie, that sandy beach looks great! :) I'm sure Lily would like something like that, too! I need to find a plastic box big enough for this which may be a problem, at least here in my hometown where one shop after another is closing.

Sara's suggestion sounds interesting, too.
