I am really confused. Why does Petsmart always have Budgies marked as parakeets?

Budgies are also known as parakeets.

Thanks, now I also know what Giselle was talking about when she mentioned her English Budgies

No problem :). I can certainly see how it could be confusing. I had parakeets growing up. I miss their feisty little clownish natures, though they were constant chatterboxes :)

Haha! Oh, no, I have American Budgies. I was *hoping* to buy an English budgie this month, but Lucky's vet bills are straining on our financial situation.

Technically, the term "parakeet" refers to many different species of birds like the brotegeris (sp?) and grass and australian. Lazy American people refer to budgerigars as parakeets... LOL, what else is new?

Well, hopefully my statement will become true soon. And I am really sorry about Lucky, I have been reading your threads in wdlb health, I hope he feels better.
