What a wonderful idea!! I also am going to order one!! That's a great price considering most cat trees are well over $100.

Oh, and that cat tree I bought on E-Bay??? Well, let's just say you get what you pay for. I sold it to my friend for what I paid for it.

That is the coolest thing and the price is great! Too bad they dont' ship to Canada.

I'm going to ask my FIL to order one for me. He's coming up in June for a wedding. I hope he'll do it for me.

That IS really cool!

Y'know - I'm always looking at things like that with the idea of 'how can I make that myself?' .....

I'm guessing, from the look of it - that it is put together very much like those closet shoe-storage hanging bags - like these from IKEA?

http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/49810_XXXXXXXX_S6.jpg

http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/42344_PE137021_S3.jpg

the only difference is that they cover all four sides, and cut 'cat holes' in the sides and floors/shelves for the cats to go in/out.

I wonder if it's washable? my Ikea ones have a heavy cardboard sewn into the base

for the 'shelves' so they aren't 'washable'. But if you could slide the boards in and out, you could remove them and throw the whole thing in the washing machine! wouldn't that be cool?

Pixel is ALWAYS trying any 'small hidey-hole' he can find, and I have two of those Ikea things for shoes (bright orange and open on one end) I'll have to see if they 'appeal' to him - if they do, I might try making one!

It's so much fun making 'toys' for Pixel - it's kinda like when I was little and made doll clothes, etc for my dolls - except that Pixel is ALIVE and he so ENJOYS the stuff we make for him, it's really rewarding to see our efforts so appreciated by him!

Laura

PS -

Catmandu - Lots of companies don't ship to Canada because for some odd reason, the shipping - even UPS ground - is often more than the cost of the item. However, if you really DO want one - and you are willing to pay for the shipping to Canada - e-mail me. you can have it shipped to my house in Illinois, and I would be happy to re-ship it to you. We should be able to find the package size, weight, etc and be able to figure out shipping costs from my house to yours before you actually order it. my e-mail is *[email protected]* ( without the "*'s")

It doesn't say how heavy a cat it can hold. My 14 pound kitty may break the shelves. My little 5 pound kitty would do just fine with it but I know both will want to get in. LOL

That's what I wondered when I first saw it. I think it would be great for kittens but I have a feeling that my porko's would tear it up in a minute! If they could even fit in there to start with. :D :D It sure is cute though.
