Hi to everyone on Pet Talk. Today I'm asking what may seem like a rather dumb question about Groucho but there are so many things I don't know. Groucho is black and white; black back, sides and tail, black ears with a white patch between his eyes. From his nose to his chin he's white except for his black Groucho Marx moustache. His underside is white as is his chest to under his chin. His legs are mostly white with some black, all four paws are white with one hind paw mostly black but a patch of white around his toes. He has the sweetest personality and is very affectionate & friendly. When someone comes over he goes right to them, never runs and hides. Though it would probably help to see a picture, my computer skills aren't quite there yet. One of my friends has said she'll help me try, I would love for all of you to meet my little purr ball. My question is, would Groucho be considered a Tuxedo? I really don't know what the standards are. I've learned so much from all of you already and my sincere thanks for that. Any information you can offer will mean a whole lot. My best wishes to all of you and your beautiful kitties! Thanks.....

There's no official standard for a tuxedo cat, as it's more a description of one's coloring. If a kitty looks like he's wearing a tuxedo, then voila - he's a tuxie, whether he be a domestic shorthair, Persian, mixed breed or anything in between! From what you said, he sounds like a Tuxedo to me!
