I took a little sweet neglected shelter doggie to the groomer then home for a sleep over with me. I did NOT recognize him when I went to pick him up at the groomer. He is a brand new dog and feels 50 pounds lighter without all his mats and tangles. He is bouncing around really happy to be here:)

Look at Mopsy's smile :)

Seeing double is right!!!!! Wow!! Oh Aly your latest little one looks sooo much like my Pumpkin now at the Rainbow Bridge. I am just dying here!!! If he was in NJ he would not be homeless any more!! How do you manage not to have a houseful of pets??!! Every time you post a picture I am just in awe! You have such willpower, keeping it at two dogs and one cat! I am afraid if I worked at a shelter most of them would wind up coming home and hubby would be asking me to leave!!! :D Oh please do keep us up-to-date on this precious one's adoption. Give him lots of kisses from Bella and me!!

Oh my gosh what an adorable baby - shouldn't have too much trouble finding a home for this cutie pie.

How cute! Seeing double alright! It looks like Mopsy and Reece both had fun.

How sweet of you to get this pup a new haircut and a fun slumber party!

Purrley, my cats like having the balance of power around here! :D HA! Aly, so far you have posted pics of at least 4 dogs that I would have taken in a heartbeat! Remember the black standard poodle named Belle? Then there were the two pug mixes! Now this little one! Wow!

Pam, it isn't willpower :) I am just careful at making sure the new animal will fit in with my crew perfectly, as I'm sure you would do the same. Thats the only thing that keeps us all from having houses overfilling with dogs and cats, hehe. Well that and your husbands :D

Mopsy is a sweet boy. He's got seperation anxiety out the wazoo though. I would actually keep him in a heartbeat but he keeps charging at Shiloh :( He's fine most of the time, but out of the blue he'll bark and chase her down. She's a little upset but holding her own.

Oh Pam, I answered the phone at the shelter the other day and was talking to this guy who adopted a dog from us and was looking for another. I finally asked him which dog he had and he said Wilma (one of the pugs!). Her name is now Chloe and she's doing wonderfully. They want another smooshy face dog like a Bulldog or Boxer :)

Mopsy is SOOO cute! To bad he's a cat chaser :( Otherwise, he looks like he would fit right in to the Alyson house hold :)

The boys and I had a fun day. Lolly and Shiloh stayed home with their aunt :) I took the poodles to the pet store and the dog park early in the morning. Then we went to the shelter to show everyone their matching outfits and Mopsy's new haircut. Oh I'm calling him Bailey now instead of Mopsy. Someone at the shelter helped me think of a more fitting name.

Bailey has actually not chased the cat at all today. He's ignoring her now. Is he being good so I'll be tempted to keep him!!! I loooooooove him soooooooooooo much.

Oh Aly, you kill me everytime you post one of your "babies!!":) I adore the makeover!! What a precious, adorable little one. Don't you think Bailey and Reece would make the perfect pair???;) Please let us know how dear Bailey's adoption goes! I can't imagine he won't be fisked away in a flash!!

But think of how much faster he'll be adopted now that he's all clean and beautiful! And we KNOW you go for the scruffy ones, too, which many people don't. Teach him love love love from all of us! ANd tell Shiloh she's still a special girl, even better for putting up with him!

Aly,

The makeover is amazing. He could be Reece's double
except for the tinting..
O.K. so now I want to know if
your lease is almost up & you've picked out a big house
with a yard yet ? LOL. Bailey is a Doll Baby !!! Liz.

Oh, they are so cute together, Aly. I do wish you could give it a l try for awhile to see if Bailey could be trained to " No, leave it" with Shiloh. Reece seem so taken with him.

I'm convinced these two are long lost brothers. I was walking them today and had to get something from my car, and they both jumped in expecting me to take them somewhere!!! Not only that, they struck a pose modeling the shirts I had them wearing!

Oh, Oh Aly - looks like you've got a new addition to the family:D :D and what a cute one too;)

Aly, I think you have found the one you need to keep... this is just too crazy! Mopsy is adorable and fits right in with Reece!!! Do you think he will get used to Shiloh? Man I would hope so. He is so cute and perfect!!!!

Your pictures are just so precious!!!! :D

The poodles are so similar!! They bark the same way, at the same time, they roll on the ground at the same time, eat and drink at the same time, rub against the couches the exact same way, lick Lolly's face the same, run after me from room to room the same, moan when being petted the same, wag their tails the same (although Bailey's is docked and Reece's isn't). It is just too weird.

Bailey is starting to try to dominate Reece a little bit. He's not being too pushy about it but keeps going to Reece and putting his front paws on Reece's back. Reece is letting him do it but gets a pathetic expression on his face. It has only happened a couple times. I am letting them work it out but watching closely. Bailey really respects Lolly as top dog though.

I was laying on the couch for a nap yesterday and all of a sudden there were three dogs laying across me at the same time :D It was heaven. When I was sitting on the couch last night, they all got up next to me and I told them to stay while I got the camera.

Another heartbreak :( I am so upset, I just don't know what to do. Lolly is acting really depressed and I think its because Bailey is still here. I guess she's fine when she thinks they're leaving after a couple days. :( :( :( :( I am devastated. I love this guy so much. He is curled up on my lap right now. And he's been so good with the cat too. He'll listen to me now if I tell him to leave her alone :(

Well one of my friends wants a poodle. I hope she can take him so I can still see him as much as I want :( I feel so awful right now.

Oh, Aly! I "hear" your distress! I think that anytime there is a new addition, there is a huge adjustment period. And Lolly has her own issues anyway having come from a not so good situation. If you're seriously considering keeping this new fellow, and I can certainly understand why you would, it just might take some time. But the next best thing will be a home with your friend, so you could see him a lot!!
Your pictures are darling!! What a sweet, cozy little family you have.

Logan :)

I agree with Logan. There is an adjustment time. Don't get discouraged. Killian and Shiloh had to be separated for a while til they adjusted. The main thing is that Bailey tolerates Shiloh (by the way, have I ever mentioned to you that I love that name?). However, if your friend wants him, that would be a good home, too. Good luck!

Shiloh puts her paw on Killian's back quite often and the look from Killian is like "ok, I'll let you pretend that YOU are boss!" He tolerates it. He'll give her a growl and "alien" face (lips raised uncovering what's left of his large teeth) when she gets too pesty. It's quite a display. All harmless. The growling that ensues is scary to someone who doesn't know them!

Aly, Bailey and Reece do look like they are long lost siblings! And the pictures of the poodles in their red shirts is adorable.

I hope Lolly comes around. Make sure you pay her just as much attention if not more and let her know that it 's OK. I think that if you decided to adopt Bailey, Lolly will adjust.

purrley
01-31-2002, 02:44 PM
I agree, give Lolly just a little more time to adjust. New arrivals usually aren't completely accepted until after a 10 to 15 day period. If your friend really wants a poodle, that's a good thing too, maybe better since that could make a lot of furries and humans happy;)

My biggest dilema is how much Lolly has been through in her life and I hate to make her have to go through ANYTHING else ever again. I've been crying all day and that doesn't help her feel better. I just love this little guy so much. I've been spending alone time with each of the three dogs and Lolly hasn't had to share anything. But she's just acting really really depressed :( :( :(

:(

I just got off the phone with my friend. She's going to swing by on her lunch tomorrow to see Bailey. But I didn't tell her for sure she could adopt him :(

Oh Aly:( I'm sorry you're going through this dilemma, I'm sure if Lolly had any idea that you felt this way she'd be more than happy to let Bailey stay. Sure doesn't take much time to get totally attached to these babies. I remember about this time last year my Panda Bear (feral Tabby cat) had her 3 three kittens and from the moment I laid eyes on the little white one (Braydee) I was in love. I did have him up for adoption, but ultimately there was no way I could let him go. It was so hard to find homes for the other two also, but they went to the homes of people I know and I still can visit them when I want to. Braydee turned into a 15 - 20 lb. white fur ball and is the sweetest baby in the world. Take care Aly and I'll be thinking of you - I'm sure you'll come up with the right decision for all concerned;)
