MORE additions to the family...

As most of you know, last Friday my husband and I adopted two more kittens to bring the total number of animals in our house to 5. This morning, I learned that there will be another addition... sometime in December. I am pregnant! I took three tests, all came back positive. Next thing on my to-do list is call the doctor and go in for my first pre-natal appointment.

I cannot believe it. I was due to get my period in April 20th, but I've had late ones before - as late as 11 days. I was going to wait until this weekend to take a test in case it was just my body being lame, but I couldn't wait any longer. I took a test last night and it came back positive, but one of the lines of the + sign was faint so my husband reserved a full reaction until we know for sure. I took the second test in the pack this morning and got the same result. I couldn't wait another minute so this morning on the way to work, I got one of the new ones that reads "pregnant" or "not pregnant" and took it. And I am.

I was talking to Josh last night and told him I had chicken nuggets for lunch and he said "If you are pregnant, the baby's going to be born looking like a chicken nugget!" Which lead to us calling the baby "Nugget" or "Nug" for short... and it looks like it's sticking! Once it's born, we won't call it that but Nug or Nugget beats "it" for 8 more months!

Congratulations!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see pictures of your little bundle of joy. I know, I know... first things first.. you gotta give birth before there are pictures. But I am excited, congrats!

You might want to see if you can get a tape of baby noises to play so that your animals can start getting used to the baby before he/she arrives.

Nope, just 8 months. :) I am 5 weeks pregnant, due on December 28th, 2005 (though I hope that changes because I hate the number 8!).

LOL I would, but I'm HORRIBLE at keeping secrets. I told way too many people right away this morning when I always said before that I'd wait until the end of the first trimester to tell anyone outside of family. That went right out the window with the positive test result today.

We are thinking of getting grandmother cards for our moms and telling them that way next Sunday, Mother's Day, and if that's what we do, I have NO IDEA how I'm going to keep this from my mom for an entire 10 days. I'd never be able to not tell Josh what it was if I knew!!! (Stupid loudmouth...)
