HI to all of my fellow animal lovers at Pet Talk. There's a great comic strip called "Mutts" by Patrick McDonald. Everything is from the pets' point of view. The main characters are Earl, a little dog, and Mooch a cat who is his neighbor and best friend. Included are many of their friends like Shtinky Puddin who is determined to save all endangered species, especially tigers. Mooch and Earl both have very loving owners and homes. But that's not all. Twice a year, Mr. McDonald runs a week of "Shelter Stories" which bring home the plight of shelter pets and encourage pet adoption from a shelter. In fact, "Shelter Stories" is running this week. There are several other animals appearing in the strip each with a special message all his (or her) own. Mooch is concerned about ferral kitties and has been known to give the dinner he often shnubs to the ferrals. There's so much to say about this strip but it would take all night. It's a warm, amusing, often thought provoking entry any pet owner/animal lover would enjoy. If Mutts isn't in your local newspaper, the website is muttscomics.com I see so much of Groucho in Mooch. Anyway, if you haven't seen Mutts, please check it out. I'm sure you'll come back for more. A scratch behind the ear to all of your wonderful pets special from me!
