I'm thinking about getting a Betta and I'd love to see what you all keep yours in. I have an old octagonal aquarium that I had a Betta in during college but it's trimmed in pink and I don't know if I want to use it now. I'd love to see what you guys use and what is appropriate.

This is Yuki's tank. It's a 1 gallon, and I think it cost around $12 at PetSmart.

I love my bettas and just had to get them a bigger living space (all of them are 1 gl). Needless to say it's not the most expensive but they seem very happy in their new homes:D

Here's Limpet's home:

I saw the cutest betta bowls at PetsMart the other day, but they were like $30. They were shaped like a fish. They're hard to describe, but they were so cute. The only problem I found with it was that it was open, no lid. My cats would have been "fishing" and drinking out of it the second I put it down.

I cant post a pic but my betta is in a huge vase with a chinese evergreen in the top, it is twice the size of the tipical betta bowl and plant so to hold the plant and rocks I had to use one of the glaware containers. He loves it!

Draco was in a 2.5g Mini Bow in this pic but I liked the 3g Eclipse that Orion was in so much that I broke down and got him a 3g Eclipse too today. I have it decorated pretty similar to the pic though.

Okay, here are my tanks!

These are my favorite tanks for people with multiple Betta's... They are 1gallon yet very roomy. And EASY to clean, I do not use the included "under gravel" filter though.
They are $10.00 at Wal-Mart...

This is my "hospital" tank, and I also use it for holding new Betta's and/or plants to make sure they aren't sick. It's a cute tank, but I personally like thanks with lights. :)

This is my 2.5g Mini Bow... If you're only planning on having one or 2 Betta's this is a great tank! It's beautiful, has a filter and is nice and roomie.

Lastly, is my Hex tank, it's OK... it needs more lighting. But a nice tank for a betta.

Thanks for all the great pictures. I love all the beautiful tanks. I was in WalMart today so I took a look a their tanks and saw some really cute accessories. I also looked at some of those poor little Bettas and it was hard not to walk out with one. I hate seeing them in those little bitty cups.

GekkeGekko - thanks for the informative link.

I'm still trying to decide if setting up a tank is a good idea with 5 house cats. I don't want an unfortunately accident and I don't have a good place that will insure his safety.

Thank you! Once I got them set up and learned how curious they are, I just kept adding more bit by bit. They really love all the plants and caves and things to swim through/around. Every so often I'll change things a bit by putting a marble or something in, or shifting things around a bit, and it keeps them fascinated and exploring often. I used to keep bettas in the more traditional "betta" tank type setups, but after watching these guys explore and be so active and curious all the time, I don't think I could have them in anything less than what they are in now. Sometimes I wish I could have even a bit bigger tanks but these two are all that will fit on my desk and I want them in here with me, where I can watch and interact with them a lot.

The two Eclipses I have now have snug fitting lids and the back flap only opens up to check the filter. I used to be annoyed to have to lift the entire hood up a bit to feed them but I don't think much about it now. It seems to me that a cat wouldn't be able to get into that kind of tank? I have never had cats really, so I don't know how resourceful they are. If you do look into tanks, I give a 2 thumbs up for the Eclipse systems. They come in 3, 6, and 12 gallon systems I think. I'd love to get a 6 or 12 at some point but they are more costly. They have a regular filter plus Bio-Wheel, they are easy to cycle and look very nice. That's been my experience anyway!

I have the same tank as Uabassoon. Right now it isn't housing a betta though, it's just a Java Fern plant. Since Sushi died I haven't been able to get out and buy gravel yet. I'm just letting the plant get bigger.

My 2 are the same as Kay's and Devon's except they're a different colour and I added my own plants and the blue rocks to it:)

I'd like to get them a each a larger one, but for now they seem to be enjoying these ones.

I have a betta that I got to keep me company at work. His name is Rupert and he's in a 2.5 gallon tank that has a filter and light. I'll bring my camera into work tomorrow and get some pictures of him. :)

Here's Siam's tank.. :) for those of you who can't see the inside clearly, there's a plant in there, some natural white pebbles, and a decorative little otter. :)

Hello! I have enjoyed seeing eveyones tanks for their bettas. Such great looking homes. I finally got a couple of pics of mine to share.

Here is Homer's. He is in a 1 gallon AquaTank that I got from Walmart.

I forgot to get a pic of Winslow in his betta sphere. He is in one of those little bowls that has the light over top. I am looking to get him into a nice tank also.

Homer and Kinkade seem much happier in there new and bigger homes. Winslow also seems quite content in his smaller bowl and that is why I have saved his new home for last. I don't think I will be buying anymore bettas. I am really hooked an aquariums though and would love to own a little bit of a bigger one so that I can add different kinds of fish. One thing at a time though ;).

Here's Rocky and Tuesday! Well... actually you can only see Tuesday! Tuesday is here in a vase, but that's just because he was getting fed... Tuesday was a "mild" (if you can use that word!) betta, and normally was in the aquarium with the rest of the fish. He was taken out for feed, and then after the two bettas had fed, we used to put the bowl and the vase next to eachother, so the two of them could have a bit of fun!

Rocky was the first one we got, and we tried him in the aquarium, but he wasn't too nice to the other fish... so he got his own bowl, with a light (underwater) and a pump.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/spartacuscat/dbfeedfish1.jpg

Alas, they both died long before my time (am a kitty!)... Rocky died on his 3 attemp to escape (twice before saved), and poor Tuesday died while mamma and daddy was on holiday, and daddys brother were watching the fish...

Rest in peace little ones!!! May you be swimming in wonderful lakes!

The aquarium Tuesday used to be in:

Question:://

I have a ten gallon tank. Is there anyway that I can get dividers and maybe have the tank divided into three?

Sorry, I'm not sure, Megan.. Are there places you can put dividers?

Here's Siam's new home... He moved last week. :) It's bigger and prettier than his old one.
