ok, folks, help me! i have no idea if this computer is even capable of playing dvds. can anyone give me any suggestions on at least how to find out if i can watch a movie? i'm sorry, i know next to nothing about computers! :) i know there are two places in the computer where i can put a disc, but, i honestly don't even know which is d and which is e. :)

The only think I can think of...if you see "DVD Rom" on the tower, then you should be able to play a DVD.

You won't be able to play a DVD without the proper software.

Look on the door of your CD Rom drive. If it says DVD Rom, you can play DVD's, as long as you have software. :)

If it say's DVD-rom' on the CD rom.
the way i find out is i just stick in a DVD to see if it comes up:o :rolleyes:

you don't need any special software. you only need "Windows Media Player"

Well, thanks guys! I know I have media player, but, i dont' think it says dvd rom. thanks for your replies! :)
