This is my brother's dog Kody, we aren't real sure what he is. He'll be 2 in July and he weighs about 30-35 lbs. My brother was told that he was part Pit Bill and part Jack Russell. I think he looks like an Irish Terrier. He has some black on his tongue which is indicative of Chow. He definitely has terrier in him, just not sure what kind. Anybody out there have any idea???

Here are some more of Kody, as well as Maggie and Sadie.

He is too cute! I really dont see any pit bull in him but I'm not that great at guessing dog breeds. :p

He's very cute whatever mix he is.

The black tongue doesn't mean he's part Chow. Lots of breeds can have that. I have a husky with black spots on her tongue and I'll guarentee there is no Chow in her!

I don't either, but he can be pretty mean sometimes. He and my aunt's cocker go at it bad. Both males and about the same size, guess it's a dominance issue.

lol pits are not mean dogs lol going at it like that is simply a terrier thing in general. my extremly smart and well bahaved Jack, if she gets into a fight the only way you will be breaking that apart is by kicking her in the ribs just hard enugh to wind her so she has to let go and you can jump in lol thankfully she is a sensable dog and rarly gets into a fight, because she actually causes injurys!

I never thought about it being the terrier in him really, but it sounds logical. If and when Sadie gets in a fight, usually with Maggie it gets nasty, although I can pull them apart. Maggie will pee though if they fight. She's much smaller and knows she's not the alpha. I never thought of terrier's being mean but I guess all dogs have their moments.

lol terriers are not "mean" they just have extremly high drive and dont give up, its just because of what the things they were bred to do, for axample fighting badgers they must be extremly tough and cant give in easy to do that job ;)

He certainly looks Irish Terrier plus something. I don't see any pitbull or Jack Russell in him, his facial structure is way too narrow for the former, and he's too big for the latter.

All Brown Dog! That's his breed! The personality sound very like an Irish terrier as well.

This Karen #2, agress with Karen #1. Irish Terrier was also my first thought. Whatever the mix, he sure is a cutie. My Logan is a GSD mix, has a black spotted tongue and no Chow in her at all either.

He's an pretty cool dog no matter what he is...loves to jump and chase his ball. Loves to chase my 2 girls around too. He's an "only child" so he gets excited when company arrives.

Looks like a border terrier/chow to me but could be airedale or irish, we have an FVHA alumni thats border/chow and looks like that, wish I had a pic, he sure is adorable though.

Kody's stop is too deep to be full or even 3/4 Irish Terrier. Most bearded terriers like Airedales, Irish, Lakeland, etc. have very little stops and their heads aren't as domed. His ears are placed too far apart, as well. Can you get a picture of Kody from the side? Kinda like a show dog? :) From the pic of him standing, facing towards us, he sort of looks part Lab to me. Like a quarter Lab or Cocker...What drives me to say Cocker is his domed head and depth of stop. If black spots are generally not a trait of Irish Terriers, I would say him being a teensy part Lab would explain the black spots on his tongue.

CUUUTE dog, though! In the running pic, he sort of reminds me of an Aussie Kelpie.:D

I will try to get a pic in the future. Good ideas though on his breed(s), more than I would have thought.

kicking her will make her mean... try throwing water, or
spray with a hose.........

I think he's a border terrier mix. Here's the official AKC pictures of the border terrier and the Irish terrier. He seems to fit the border profile the best.

LOL! I also saw a bit of Norfolk terrier in his face. But then I didn't think it was possible because he was so big. I was also thinking Border Terrier because of his facial features, but his ears really do not remind me of any particular terrier. His beard and eyebrows sure look like it, though.
