Sunday afternoon, the dogs were swimming in an open creek:

Hobo was quite enthralled with the water and ice all the same time!

Last night it snowed:

This picture was taken at about 8pm. By 8 am this morning, there was a good six inches of heavy, wet white stuff on the ground. So like any self-respecting musher, I called work and told them I was not coming in today. I have six months of leave time that I haven't used. I can take one mental health day! My boss, who is great, didn't mind at all.

So I hooked up a little team. I could only take five as Hobo was determined to come and he has to run alone. I didn't feel like messing around adding sections to the gangline to take more dogs!

Breaking the trail out of the yard. The snow was heavy and slow going, but the dogs seemed to be having a good time anyway.

Down by the lake, there wasn't even a moose track in the snow when we came by! Mac ran ahead of us and helped break the snow a bit.

Franklin and Pacer ran in wheel. The dogs needed lots of breaks today. Breaking trail is hard work!

Hobo's last owner trained him to lay down whenever the sled stops. It's very handy and helps keep him cool!

The trip home was much faster, much less work for all of us and fun!

On our way home, these beauties flew overhead.

The Yukon is a main stopping area for Trumpter Swans on their way North to their breeding grounds.

So much better than even a good day at work!

Wow your pictures are good! Of course, the subject matter is pretty good too. ;)

What kind of camera did you end up buying?

I bought an Olympus C-5060. I love it! But most of these were taken on my old Olympus C-50, except the one of Hobo in the creek. I was too scared to take the new on the sled. For sure if I had taken it, I would have been dragged through the snow or something!

I believe "a bad day at home is better than a good day at work!"

I don't have a boss to report to anymore since I have my own business so having mental health days doesn't happen anymore unless I'm really sick. :(
