Lexi and I were playing outside and she noticed a small creek that would be good to go and take a dive in, I let her on her 25-foot leash so she couldn't get away. We went back at least 3 times, the last time I was coming out from the side of it and I saw this huge garter snake...(even though it wasn't all that big) it scared me so bad! It curled up into that swivel shape and opened its mouth and jumped at my ankle, I jumped too, but I called "LEXI HELP!!!" and she came running from out of the creek and pounced on the snake! The snake tried to bite her but she barked bared her teeth and stabbed him with her claws, and he slithered away! :D I was so PROUD of my girl for doing that for me, its shows me how much she loves me! :D I am going to get her something special tonight when I go shopping for the pets! :D

Oh, and Lexi caught 2 frisbees, in mid-air! :D:D I thought that was amazing too! :D She has never done that before, I'm so proud of my Lil' Girl!

Aw, that's great!! I know Blaze would protect me if he had to, too. I mean, sometimes when I walk him, he gets nervous if someone walks by, and always wants to protect me! That's so neat Lexi can catch a frisbee too! I didn't know she could!:D Blaze LOVES frisbee, but he always chews them up, so we don't have any at the moment...

Somehow this doesn't make sense to me:confused:

Wouldn't the snake bite her when Lexi jumped on it, and I always thought Garter snakes are harmless and don't "attack" if they are not provoked (from what I know, but then again I am no expert.) so I find it hard to believe it jumped at your ankle? Also, if it was that riled up and was going for your ankle then I don't think a dog would make it just slither away?

Yeah are you sure it was a garter snake? I used to have 2 and they were sweet as pie. I never thought a garter would attack  But I am no expert.

I have to agree with Aly. We have a lot of garter snakes here and they are harmless. I pick them up all the time. In fact just the other day the fur kids were playing with one in the yard. I have never heard of a garter snake biting anyone:confused: But I'm no expert either.;)

Sorry, but it sounds so fake to me. I know a Garder snake would never do that and I don't believe a dog would react that way either. I also don't think that a dog would be able to scare off a snake.

have you ever seen animal miracles this dog scared off a snake from a little kid. The dog took the toll and is still alive.

Her dog was loyal to her and ALL dogs are loyal in some way. Isn't the dog loyal to you in your signature ;)

Please her dog rescued her in her opinion and you know why do you even bother posting on this post if you're going to make the OP feel down. Please, just please I am not ganging up on you but she is happy about her dog saving her in her own way. Her dog is her heroe.

To the OP good lexi :D you give her a kiss for me, okay? :)

She said that snake was starting to come towards her ankle or something. I can guarantee you that if a dog suddenly scratched it ect. it would attack. It would not be scared off. If it was already trying to attack her (unprovoked) then it wouldn't take shit from a dog trying to attack it.

er, I don't think it was rude to be confused. garter snakes are the snakes for beginners. there are more than 20 kinds of garters.. maybe lexi used wrong name of that snake. maybe she needed to feel good but who knows. don't all we ask a question out of guts? I'm wondering and amazed too, though.

if that's true, kudos to lexi for "protecting" her momaw but poor that innocent garter! (it was its instinct - equally to all creatures..)
