Well here are my two precious babies at 2 days old. The peanut has been very weak today... things aren't looking to good for it. :( The other kit seems to be doing well though. I'm really hoping the peanut makes it, but I think he/she is starting to fail... but I'm trying to think positive.

You can really see the size difference between them in these pics.

I've never seen baby bunnies that young. Best wishes for the little peanut.

Wow that is a really big difference. I hope the little one makes it. I'm surprised the mother lets you near the babies, my sister's rabbit used to be so horrible at abandoning them if you even touched them, she must really trust you.

yeah I've never seen that so young before either..soo cute. it took me a while to figure :p

:( I know that feeling, the five kittens were born, but the one..was so small, a runt and only girl out of all - and started SO weak. she decided to let her little heart go 10 days after.. :( :( NOW, I hope peanuts will be ok!! *hugs*

oh and.. (not raising a bunny before) but if this works well for you, PLEASE make sure peanuts (girl or boy?) EAT a lot, even more than the bigger one..it MAY help before s/he "starts" failing..

Is there anything you can do for the Peanut? Supplemental feedings etc? Could a vet help the little one? :(

luckies, just wanted you and others before spending $$$$ on something, to know that vet isn't a guaranetee way to help - the 4th day my little girl (the fourth one) who couldn't nurse herself so I took her to ICU, gave her vitman boost, tube-feeding EVERY 2 hours for three days. she seem got stronger, took her back home. (well, kitten may be different from kit) on 9th day, she wasn't moving at all, became all purplish, took her back to ICU-- did the same thing all over - she just died six hours later..no matter what  - a few vet think I was crazy for BAWLING all over this little heart  anyway, hope you're able to do something for peanuts on your own too along with some vet advices, maybe? good luck and keep us updated!!

No, I'm afraid nothing can be done for it. We're doing all we can for it, assisting it with nursing and keeping it nice and warm.

Just another quick update. We got both babies nursed and both have full tummies and are doing wel. The little peanut was quite hungry and appears to be doing better now.
