An internet search tells me that they have squirrels here, but there certainly aren't any in the region where I live.
I miss the cute little things:( :( They have such cute lil' paws and such cute little question mark tails *sigh*
This thread is absolutely pointless, but just thought that I'd let you all know.
Don't take your squirrel friends for granted!! They don't live everywhere:( :( :(

Aw, I know I'd miss seeing our squirrels if they didn't come around anymore or we moved. They are fascinating little critters and I adore them! We often put peanuts out for them. :) I'll see if I can snap a few pics next time they're around.

You are so right, Missy!! We don't have squirrels here either:( . As I lived in the USA for 2 years, I know what you mean: we had plenty of those cuties around there! I miss them too :( :(

Yes they can be a bother, but I enjoy watching them too. Just yesterday I was giggling over two of them chasing each other around.

We have some living in our house, and we can't find a humane way to get rid of them. You're welcome to have them, if you'd like. :D

I LOVE watching them and so do my babies. I would miss them terriably if we didn't have them anymore. I had a bird feeder in a tree right outside my front door and I had more squirrels eating from it than birds and I would stand for hours and watch them.. My guys love watching them from the window and I often wonder what they would so if one jumped at them..:D

We have many many squirrels here! Our favorite is one we named 'Stubby'. He has been in our neighborhood for several years and he is easily identified by his little stub of a tail. It is only about 4 inches long. They like to come up and look in our glass storm door and see whats happening inside.

One of these days I'll catch Stubby on camera.

I miss my beloved Shirley. I have seen ground squirrels here (smaller tail) in rocky areas like the harbor....but not around the house. I keep a photo of Shirley on my desk....

KBlaix, what kind of squirels are those? We have grey squirrels where we live.

I see a couple, grays and the ones like KBlaix's and also black squirrels. I am so happy, don't ask me why I am over this, but Lexi saw her first squirrel the other day! :D I made a huge deal about it! :p She saw him outside(she was sitting on the back of the couch) jumped down and then somehow jumped back up onto the couch, like over the back! LOL!

I don't see many more around...but I don't miss them:p

I wish I could see them too, where I grew up in Texas we didn't have squirrels. Now in Tucson we don't have any either. I've seen a few at the park, they are ground squirrels but I've never seen them anywhere else around town.

We have them here, they can be a pain sometimes, but mostly I like watching them. We have all different colors. The grey, brownish, and a few black ones, mostly in town. I have a big fat one missing his tail that hangs around.

I couldn't find any pictures of the squirrels who live in my crabapple tree, but here's a cute one I found on the internet.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/sukiwingy/cats%20and%20guinea%20pigs/egrysqurl.jpg
We have Eastern Grey Squirrels- Sciurus caroliniensis. It is the North Carolina state mammal! They also have a "black phaze" color mutation within the species, I think.

you guys are great:D :D :D My hubby was laughing at me so hard when he saw that I had a picture of a squirrel on my desktop. There aren't many animals except for birds where we live, but this section of Japan is mostly urban. Off base trees and even grass are few and far between.

Can you believe that poor Boomer has NEVER gotten the pleasure of squirrel watching???   He has spent plenty of time pigeon watching, but pigeons are ugly and annoying:mad: :D

To know them is to love them. I adore pigeons. I've raised and rescued them too, they're wonderful. My good friend currently has 2 one-winged pigeons named Vegas and Reno. They really are very wonderful birds.

Thank you. I raised him last summer. He was a baby and was injured in Hurricane Charlie. I had his sister too, but she couldn't be saved, she was too badly injured (broken back:( ).

He's a grey squirrel. Here we have grey squirrels, a few black squirrels, fox squirrels, and flying squirrels.
