Too busy and my sewing machine is broken - I'm too busy to take the machine in OR make beds for my kids. Besides, they just use my KING SIZED bed. Yup, they're spoiled!

I couldn't vote! I don't make or buy cat beds! They make their own! The laundry basket is their favorite bed. No longer used for laundry. Now Pouncer's spot is the chair in my bedroom -- AFTER he pushes the pillow off the chair  Harry and Allen favor the tub chairs in my livingroom. They are u-g-l-y, but since the cats love them they stay! :D :p

I used to buy 'em . . . but after I learned how to make them, I probably won't buy another.

Here's the first & only bed I've made so far:

Nipo hasn't liked the beds we bought in the past, so now I am under the impression that at some point I'll find time to make one! I'm hoping I'll have more time during the summer...
Sirrahbed's original thread and seeing everyone's wonderful homemade beds is what inspired me! :)

Here is the carpet condom tutorial (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70758&highlight=tutorial) if any of you want to try your hand at them. I can't take credit because I used Laura's idea and Jazzcat's pictures:p I just put it all together.

If anyone makes more - how about posting pictues for inspiration?:)

You know I make them, and PLENTY of them. ;) I have a total of, hmm, 8 now that are hand made. I had one that I bought, and the kittied NEVER likes it, so dad threw it out:rolleyes:
I also used the tutorial, and some others, put them all together and hand sewed them. It was easier for me to look at the pictures, and then just kinda wing it, now it is simple for me, and I look forward to making several more. I have the fabric I bought.. Now all I need is the time;)
PS- Walmart has a sale on fabric Sarah, the fleecy kind, for 2 dollars a yard, I buy 1 1/2 yards, and have a little left over for mini Ferra beds:D

I've made 4 for my boys so far and I'm currently making some more for friends and some of my PT friends as well.:) I even bought a sewing machine so I don't have to use my mom's. So far Storm and Sky use them the most. Cirrus usually uses one at night and I finally caught Sunny using one today.:) Here are some pictures.

I make them about 24"-25" wide because I have very large cats.:D They also get easier each time you make them.

Where's the option for us with no sewing skills whatsoever? Needles, thread, and me are sometimes a dangerous mix! :D

Actually, I never bought one and I never made one. Marshmallow is lucky enough to have a grandmeowmie that has done both for her!
