Noisette, Tuesday's COD, likes to be be brushed, but seems to be particular about where! I'm happy to report Freckles (the cat) loves being brushed. She'll strech out so I can brush her on one side, then her
tummy, then turn her with the brush so I can get the other side. This is important, because she's long haired and prone to hairballs. (that's another story already covered in Cat, Health)

For me it's difficult to vote in this week's poll since each of my cats behaves differently. My 18 year old male loves it, he purrs throughout and even turns rounds for me. It's different with my females though. One of them hates it and even tries to bite, the other will let me do it (but everyone else who tries is in trouble)but she needs to be in the mood otherwise forget it.

Gio, you have three cats? It's ok to vote three times.

Charlie loves being brushed. He will even grab the brush with his paws and rub his face against it. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Ben,
The pet stores carry brushes, but any soft-bristled brush will do.

Both of mine are short haired cats so they are easy. Trevor loves being brushed almost as much as eating and sleeping. He sometimes goes to the drawer where I keep the brush and meows. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Andy will put up with it but often is more interested in biting the brush. Guess he feels it is some sort of living thing violating his body.

all my dogs loved to be brushed. One of my three cats likes it. the other one does some times. And my kitten hates it!

My cats push each other out of the way when I pull out the brush or even the comb. Sometimes when I am working at my desk I will just show them the brush and can count on having two cats in front of me in a flash. The only problem is that Rascal gets into it so much that he drools all over my desk. So I can't even start without having a towel on hand.

One of my dogs likes it and the other only tolerates it.

My cat Simba loves to be brushed. I use my dogs glove brush to brush him. The glove brush works great because all your doing is petting the cat and it's being brushed at the same time.

I find combing and brushing a dog to be a very calming activity for me, so wouldn't you know it I would never have a dog that enjoyed it. I take such care to use the proper tools and methods to tackle any mat so not to be hurting my dog in the process. With the curly haired cockapoos, it is a task that requires much gentleness and care, but when I got the cocker, I thought I would finally have a dog who would enjoy the process....WRONGO. He is as bad as the rest of them. When the neighbors dog used to stop over, I'd quick run to get a comb because she seemed to enjoy it.

My aussie mix, Graham LOOOOOVVVVVSSSS to be brushed! He'll sit there for the entire day and let me brush him I think. Cassie the pug likes the feel of a brush for a few seconds then she starts to get very playful and excited and beging to wiggle, play, and smash her face. Brushing with her lasts no more then 20 seconds http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Somehow when I first answered this I only responded on behalf of my cats. I have to weigh in for Bella now! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif So far she has had two grooming sessions with us, the last one being two nights ago. Being a poodle, it is more than just brushing. After a little combing, out come the clippers! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif She didn't really appreciate the entire thing at all the first time, but Thursday night she was a little better. By the time we finished she was just laying there waiting patiently for it to be over. Of course I kept telling her through the whole thing "you were born a poodle and this is your lot in life." http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

My cat Scooter hates being brushed so much that if he even sees me with the brush in my hand he runs and hides.
My cat Monty loves it so much that he purrs so loud that you can hear him in the other room.
